We're going to have to agree to disagree then, because I find watering down a breed to cater to dumbfucks morally reprehensible

The only thing I'm going to bother to call you on is this:
so WHY should idiots be caterd to? so that dogs donot have to go thru life being completly miserable.
If a person is an idiot, they are going to be an idiot. Watering down a breed isn't going to stop it from being miserable. I've worked with dogs in various places on and off since I was 16.

I also worked in a grooming salon in and out of a chain pet store and let me tell you something. You want to see some miserable dogs owned by morons? Look in the latter. I've seen a Pomeranian so fat and heavy that we honestly all thought it was just fluffy until we actually touched it. That dog was almost two feet wide and couldn't stand for more than 3 minutes at a time because the dog couldn't support it's own weight. The owner knows it's detrimental, but thinks she's cute that way. That dog is so heavy it can't even act like a dog and spends almost every hour of the day in a crate so the house "doesn't smell like dog". How is that dog not miserable?

Ever seen a Cockapoo so matted down that when you shave the matts off he's so damn happy that he stops being a snarling angry psychopath and turns into a nub wagging face licking machine but all the owner does it get mad at you and tell you the dog isn't "pretty" anymore? I have

Ever seen a German Shepherd puppy that can barely walk at 5 months because his owner was much more concerned with how big he was and how arched his back was than whether his parents were healthy, then had to be euthanized at 8 months because his hips just gave out? I have

Ever seen a Yorkie whose owners wanted to muzzle because it was yelping at night when the only reason it was yelping at night was because the dog was experiencing terrible allergies and joint issues but owners thought that health care was absurd for a dog? I have

Want more stories? I have more stories. Instances like this happened several times a week. Almost every day.

How is catering to dumb people helping these dogs? You're going to have to explain that one to me. Making dogs "easier" for dumb/lazy people to own doesn't do anything but make a problem worse and it's one of the reasons animal rights activists gain so much ground with anti-breeding legislation. The easiest and most efficient way to keep dumb people from owning dogs is to not let them have one

I guess it's the same notion of 'it's all in how you raise them' in regards to the APBT. Load of crap. Hell half the people that own an APBT have NO business owning one whatsoever, at all. This is a problem in all the 'powerful' breeds in general. One that will never end. The most we can do is be responsible with our own dogs, and attempt to educate others when we can.

Hello,

I am interested of this type Bull Terrier, which otherwise resembles the English Bull Terrier, but has more beautiful/natural (just my opinion!) head - since I hate extremes in dog breeding, and I would call the nowaday's English Bull Terrier's head extreme.

However, I have several questions as it is so difficult to find enough information elsewhere:
1. Do you have some listing for breeders of Indian type Bull Terriers? How many breeders there are in India and is the breeding active?
2. Is there some registry for their bloodlines? I understood the Indian Kennel Club does not recognize them yet?
3. I read that the Indian Bull Terriers are bred for fighting. So, if I am purchasing a puppy, will the only option be a fighting-line Bull Terrier? I am not interested to use my dog for fighting, but rather as an active companion and hobby dog (tracking, rescue hobby). However, are all Indian type Bull Terriers fighting-line, or does there exist some other kind of working-line too?

It's 2 years since the post was written, but still I am writing this so that if any other member has similar query it can be answered.

1. There is no listing of breeders of Indian Bull Terrier. There is no record of the no. of breeders. The breeding is active. Please note that these dogs are found mostly in rural north India. People who own them breed them for personal utility and share the pups with people they know personally. This breed is rare in India.

2. No, there is no registry for their bloodlines.

3. No, Indian Bull Terriers are not popular among dog fighters. Pitbulls and Bully Kuttas are. Most Indian Bull Terriers are used for vermin control and pets. They are very attached to their families but have very high prey drive.
