Old Cemeteries

I had a friend who lived directly across the street from a cemetery and we used to get high there pretty much everynight during the summer. The caretaker dude was cool he knew we weren't doing anything bad like stupid vandalism bullshit. He even shared a toke with us a time or two.

that place looks awesome CRB. i'm loving those trees filled with spanish moss!

and LOL @ my tacky deer/dog!!!
Oh man it is just a beautiful place. I used to make my aunt take me there like every weekend just to walk around. It has a really peaceful, serene atmosphere and when the Gardenias and magnolias are blooming the whole place smells like them. I miss it so bad. Some of the Stones there are so old it's crazy. There are a lot they say stuff like 'Here lies So an so. Died in a duel in 1789'

No.. It's way down in an area that I've never been before. The cops patrol it like mad too.. I don't know if I ever will, not worth getting arrested.
That sucks. There is a cemetery in a very small town here called Stull and supposedly the grounds of the cemetery are some sort of gateway to hell or something evil like that. There have been so many reports and stories about weird shit going on there that the police in this town of about 1500 have to patrol it constantly and you will be arrested if they find you there.

Yea, I think she's one of the most famous haunts in the country.. Always on TV shows and stuff. It's understandable that the cops have to patrol. Dumb fucking kids always trying to fuck with shit.

I dont get why dumb ass kids would go fuck with head stones and shit in a grave yard.. like really now?? Go find someones house to break in, and leave the dead alone..

I agree. I've done some pretty shitty things in my life but senseless vandalism has never appealed to me. Whether it be headstones or people cars and houses or whatever. I never did that shit. If I'm going to fuck some shit up and risk going to jail I'm going to make sure it's for someone I hate.

Lol I though it was cool.. maybe I am just crazy, but when someone chases me with a shotgun I find it hilarious and have to try and not laugh while running away..

It always seemed so much cooler, like temperature wise, at the cemetery so we were always there just hanging out, looking at different headstones and stuff.

We used to go into the very back and clean off the really old headstones so they wouldnt get swallowed up by the grass.
He should pay you for maitnance then haha.. All I do is watch bats and read names. I am an asshat like that.
Occasionally if i bring someone easily scared ill taunt ghosts and watch them get all scared. "Here Casper?"

I have done TONS of senseless vandalism, but for some reason, doing it to graveyards and stuff like that never appealed to me.
Like, why go fuck with shit, when someone lost a loved one, and then payed for a headstone to remember them..
I know how much those things cost, and how special they are to people, I wouldnt want someone messing with my Great Grandmas or Best Friends headstone, so I have some respect towards peoples things lol

lol idk I am weird about some things.. like to me, those poor people have been gone for so long, no one comes to visit them, no one misses them, no one cleans and keeps their headstones pretty, so I figured, why not be somewhat nice and clean it off, and make sure the next time someone comes by, they can see it, and maybe make that person feel remembered somewhat...

lol yes I am weird I know.

I was walking a dog in the hunting club roads a few weeks ago and we got off the path and just cut through the woods just for the hell of it and i found a REALLY old one the most recent date i found was like 1906 it was cool but creepy at the same time.

Old cemetarys are great, especially if you are into geneology at all. I have managed to find the grave of my great, great, great, great, great grandfather who died in 1842 and an uncle who fought in the civil war. The saddest gravestone i have seen was in a small cemetary in New Oxford, Pa. It looked exactly like a tree trunk with ivy growing up its sides and a small hat hanging off one side, about 3 feet high and was in memory of a young boy, always made me really sad.

Eljay, that is probably the coolest old cemetery EVER! I think I should do a coffee table book on old cemeteries.

Chloesrb2, wow, what an amazing cemetery we don't have anything that elaborate here....

Bud, do you have pictures???

I LOVE cemetaries. They are so peaceful. When I worked at the library in Kingston, they had a huge one right across the road so I'd always go and eat my lunch in there. The dead rock. They don't babble a bunch of bull and ruin your lunch.

My mum and sister do geneology for our family. My mum does her side and my sister does my dad's. I tried to post some pics of grave stones of our family AND an actual funeral pic but my lap tops being a big fat jerk so I'll have to try again later.... lol

I have always thought it was so weird to take pictures at a funeral. I had this friend whose Aunt had a stillborn baby and they kept pictures of the dead baby in the photo album and on the walls right next to pictures of the other kids. My friend got mad at me when I said it was fucking weird, but it was! You could totally tell that the baby was dead. I don't get offended easily but it was really kind of sick IMO.

I hear ya! It IS creepy and this from a girl who loves creepy.
Oh yeah, I do too, I know I'm fucking weird and I guess I would kind of understand if the mom just kept the picture for herself like put it away some where, but to put it on display in full view of whoever comes in your house. That shit just aint right.:no2:
