You know, I've never seen a boston with cropped ears. Every single one I've ever met has had natural prick ears.

I like the cropped look better...full prick makes them look like frenchies

We had a Boston when I was younger. My mom bred her and we ended up keeping 3 of the 8 puppies. Obviously, BYBer bred but I think they were nice looking dogs. The puppy I picked, Buddy, had a rather long muzzle and I always said he looked like a mini pit bull. He's on the bigger side for his breed.

I love the older pictures of the breed. Though I will never go out and get another one intentionally, I still like the breed and they will always hold a special spot in my heart.

how much do you think you would you get docked if you came to a show with a terrier-head Boston?

Is there even anyone who still breeds that type??

I felt the need to show off these dogs. Buddy is the older one. He's 11 years old today. Completely blind and deaf. The dogs in this line don't live long at all. He's outlived them all. He was my pick out of the litter my mom bred. Everyone called him ugly from the get go. Longer muzzle and very buggy eyes that look in opposite directions. His ears never stood either.

The puppy is my grandma's dog. He's 3 years old now and still just as ugly as he was as a pup. lol I don't really like him at all.

I just wanted to show off their longer muzzles.

of course there is some type of outcross with a staff blood or maybe APBT blood to bring the athleticism out of them. dont know the history of these, but they are similar to the olde bulldogs were they are trying to recreate the old. the old of course is always better. the new is just the shell of the dog.

  16. i would get one of these over the traditional ones though. there pretty cool although they arent my cup of tea.

An Olde Boston that looks like this gal might be worth checking into. Who cares if they had to mix something in there to get it? Id rather have a healthy dog than a "pure" dog anyday! lol

The crop looks damn nice too.

  18. i agree. i like the olde bulldogges too. they brought back the dogs movement. although the history behind the olde bulldogges is completely fabricated.

I don't understand the need to recreate ruined/extinct breeds. Especially just for companionship. What's the point??
