OK so I called animal control on my neighbors.

Discussion in 'Emotional Support' started by Stephanie Ciccone, Sep 15, 2014.

  1. I had to. They have been physically and mentally abusive to their apbts. They have 8 dogs and 5 are apbt. My Molly is one of their puppies. She is 11 weeks old and an amazing pup. Description of abuse: beating the dogs with fist or a metal object in rib area and back til they cry, yelling and screaming at them all the time. Breaking point was today, the dogs were tied to the fence posts and one knocked over his water dish and the man beat the piss our of him. These are smart dogs, they get no exercise, as they are chained to short leads, and they are not treated well. While he was beating Patches, a apbt, I was taking Molly out, and she his in my arm pit and whimpered. These dogs are smart and just want love. One was barking at me and Molly and all I did was calmly say its OK, you know we live here, we have doggies too, theirs no need to bark like that. And she laid down and calmed down and stopped barking. Did I do the right thing?

Yes. Thank you for calling animal control. I'm not sure what happens now but hopefully the dogs will be removed from that house. Maybe a video of the beatings might help?
  3. I never am prepared when it happens. I don't want them seeing me filming etc, because I got molly from them and have 2 dogs and don't want to start a war. The one that beats them admitted he didn't want them in the first place and if it wasn't for the woman they'd be gone already. I would hate to see them put to sleep. It breaks my heart to see/hear the abuse. No animal deserves that.

    What did animal control do?

Can you video tape the abuse from your window?
  6. They said they will send someone out as soon as they could. Also side note, the reason I did it anonymously is because I had to seek medical attention for a bite their one pup inflicted on my arm, so I don't want to seem like I am out to destroy their family. The bite was in March and the dog was almost 4 mos old. I didn't want to report it but I had to because of the injury (she severed a nerve and punctured a main vein)

Here's a tip. If animal control refuses to do anything, take video and send it to a news station anonomously with the address and name of the people on film. They eat that sort of stuff up... especially if there's a possible scandal with a government organization not doing its job. Another option is to find out who the AC reports to (here it is the health department) and contact them with a complaint.
  8. Thanks for the tip
