OCD in the BT

So, I was watching a show on Netflix last night on dogs (yes, this is how I spend my nights), and they mentioned the selective breeding of dogs has produced many interesting and unhealthy effects. They focused for a few minutes on the Bull Terrier breed having a high occurance of OCD behavior, such as tail chasing.
-For BT owners and breeders, have you ever experienced OCD behavior in your dogs?
-If a dog that is conformationally sound and proven for breeding has OCD, would you choose to breed this dog? Why or why not?
-If OCD occured in dog produced by your breeding, would you research where it may have come from (genetic research), or figure it as a freak occurance?

Oh the OCD craze. I have my own opinions on this but its very controversial and your opening a whole can of worms with such a question.

I've never had a tail chaser, never seen one in person, heard a lot tho...all mine spun curiously as pups and I immediately broke it and took them to run some energy...I have an opinion that the bull terrier is a working dog and many try to make them low energy dogs or possibly not give them the exercise they need to keep themselves busy and thus you end up with a spinner. People are quick to medicate there spinning dogs buy you better believe I would run the hell out of my dog and give that a very firm try before shoving doggy prozac down there throat...
other OCD in bullies is
fly biting, never seen it before, I don't think its as common but its where they snap at invisible flies...

maybe its us changing the shape of the head? Maybe its from trying to make a low energy dog or ignore the needs of a dog known to be very high energy, hard to say I guess...

The only OCD my dogs have is being very stubborn and never wanting to give up ever. Sometimes you have to pry that ball out of there mouth and put it away because they will run until they drop.

I can not fathom any responsible breeder breeding a dog with severe spinning problems...I honestly couldn't tell ya if it's genetic or not or if its a matter of that particular dog...but a dog with severe spinning is unlikely to be able to even stand in a dog show as there known to spin constantly...some people encourage such a thing due to ignorance of 'oh how cute hes chasing his tail' but its very serious...many bullie owners had no clue how bad it is until I told them to never allow such a thing...a few spins due to a hucklebutt or excitement is fine but neurotically spinning is a big problem.

Most Bull terriers will do their charging bully runs(AKA hucklebutting in the usa)as its just in the breed....some do it more than others but usually its when the dog is happy or excited and they will do it regardless of how well exercised they are ...but thats not OCD ...for me OCD is when they constant chew on their feet un till sore or constantly chase their tails, the later should not be confused with charging bully runs(AKA hucklebuttin)

I wouldnt breed a dog with any health issues including OCD..not naming names but some breeders have no scruples at all and will breed a dog regardless to suit their own ends !

I know of well known kennel here in the uk that have carried on studding a dog even when they knew the dog had a class 2 heart murmur, they only stopped using him when it was found out some of the pups had major heat murmurs ...i just cant my head around a breeder that should know better that would still do somethink like this !

Some people just dont give a toss and will do what they wanna do regardless of cost to life or the peoples feelings that buy a pup with health issues that could of been avoided !
