I understand that is the mayo clinic definition, but that going by that it would seem that the majority of criminals, heck, many people in general, are sociopaths. Heck, the majority of politicians fit that description. lol.

And on this I rephrase sociopaths lack conscience. Soul is a debatable word. But I did say this already.

The mayo clinic's definition was VERY vague. Animal cruelty for entertainment or pleasure is KNOWN as one of the biggest earliest signs of a true sociopath.

I understand that, and I have already had this decision/argument before, I believe somewhere earlier in this thread, so, no offense to you, but I don't want to go over it again. I hope you understand. Nothing personal.

Yea he's SOOOOO sincere and sorry! NOT. He's dusgusting http://www.freedomslighthouse.com/2009/08/michael-vick-asked-what-about-dogs-in.html

Ok. My comments were general on the topic and posts that were made recently...not you specifically. :)

I don't know Vick. I don't know if he really regrets what he did to the dogs, or if he just regrets getting caught and losing all he did. However, people react differently to different things, and sound differently. So, though, it may not sound truly "genuine" to you, doesn't mean it isn't. It might be. It might not be.

    Who are we to judge?
  6. Kellyann

I googled "sociopath animal torture" and 5 pages deep Vick's name is the constant in link after link.
  7. CoolHandJean

    CoolHandJean Krypto Super Dog

Because people keep saying he is, doesn't mean that he is. lol.

I can make a blog tomorrow saying how I think the President is a sociopath, but it doesn't make it so.

Unless a real psychologist has sat down with Vick and really analyzed him, then we don't know for fact that he is one.
  8. Kellyann

He shows no remorse thru that whole interview. He seems to be holding back a smirk in fact. There are also reports of other behaviors he shows that line up with such a diagnosis. He can not take criticism, cold and calculating, shows no emotion or signs of empathy ever etc... I think if he truly regretted it there would be more emotion...more OMG I can't believe I was even capable of the things I did.

I know people who just never show their emotions. You don't know if they are truly sorry or not, because their whole life they have worked at hiding what they are feeling. From what I hear, Vick had a rough up bringing, maybe he had to learn to be a bit hard. Then again, maybe he doesn't care. We don't know for sure is all I am saying.

I just saw that info now. I am not the only one who sees it was my point. You can make a blog sure but you won't get 5 top pages on Google with your blog topic. I didn't even put Vick's name in. In fact I was trying to avoid it. I wanted Vick-less info.
  11. CoolHandJean

    CoolHandJean Krypto Super Dog

Vick is still a hot topic right now, so, yes, a lot of reports are going to be about it, but how many of those internet topic about sociopaths that included Vick were from actual Psychologist, and how many were from Psychologist whom have actually met Vick?

Look up pit bulls, and you will probably find a bunch of information on how vicious and evil they are, but is that the truth?
  12. Kellyann

    Kellyann Little Dog

We don't know for sure but I believe it. That's my point. And I wish he'd go away.

---------- Post added at 08:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:29 PM ----------

Some was Philly.com and cbssports.com etc... I don't know. Yea sadly I came across people talking about how pitbulls are worthless monsters anyway. He also hurt the breed IMO.
  13. CoolHandJean

    CoolHandJean Krypto Super Dog

I wish he'd go away as well, but it won't happen if people keep shining the spot light on him by bringing him more attention.

If they haven't realized it already, talking about the man and what he did, hasn't made the man less popular.

I agree that he hurt the breed. I am not a fan of the man. I don't like the man. I don't agree with what he did in the least bit. However, I am not going to sit and judge him. I don't know him or his mind.

I can respect that. Part of me thinks if enough people would speak out and the voice was loud enough the NFL might listen. But it seems not at this stage of the game. I tend to fight for things important to me...not sit by quiet and idle. Where we've gotten to today as a nation didn't come by people sitting idle quietly watching things go on that shouldn't.

What's hard for me is that football is part of my life. We don't miss an Eagles game and often host the game at our house with friends. One of the best things about fall was football and the excitement of a new season. He squashed that. My hate for him is so deep that I couldn't come to grips with how to deal with it all and still completely haven't. I was secretly hoping they wouldn't sign him but they did just this week. Any championship this season would be tainted in my heart. I would never cheer him on. It would be a betrayal to my dog and my beliefs. She means more then any Superbowl. But can I still root for my team? I don't know. And then I don't want him to have the influence to change such a big part of my life either. Unfortunately my enthusiasm for football has been greatly affected. My husband is bummed over him ruining things and is afraid I won't even watch when they start playing him.

The other problem is that because he's in my city his face is plastered all over the TV even when football isn't on, newspapers, conversations etc... Even when people meet my dog some of them bring his name up. Maybe that's what keep fueling the fire for me. He's being shoved down my throat and I just can't stand it. It hasn't died down here at all.

Its bigger than one man. You should boycott the whole NFL as well as NBA, and MLB.

Personally I think he's a piece of crap. He's only sorry because he got caught. Look at his interviews, some of the things he says is memorized. He HAS to say the right things now. If the NFL did not matter to him, he would not be playing or he would donate all his earnings to different orginizations.

Kellyann, I believe in fighting for things I believe in as well, but one must learn to choose their battles. I would be more willing to join a protest rally against Stallworth playing again than Vick, because I feel a loss of a human life is much worse than the loss of an animal life. However, like I have also said before, if people like you want to get out there and protest Vick, go for it. It is your Constitutional right. I am not going to try to stop you or tell you that you are dumb for doing it. I am just going to tell you why I will personally not be there protesting with you.

Very well said. There is more of this going on then what people think. I also think the professionals with more money can "hide" it better.
