    knab...what? xD

his name is Perfect Doc, call name is just Doc
he's getting old now lol he's from 99 or 98 I'll have to check his paperwork :)

I do ride, mostly english but I prefer to ride western..
I mostly ride english because I desperately need to save up for a good, nice saddle sometime cause right now, when I ride western I'm using that of a friend of my mom's and it's quite hard on my butt lmao
it's a cutting saddle so it's not real comfy haha ^^

I can't stand to spent more than an hour on that saddle..

actually when I got him it didn't turn out how I wanted it to in the first place lol
I actually wanted a horse I could jump in competition with..
for whatever reason my dad's best friend (who's quite heavy into horses) kept pushing us to go looking at a 7 year old gelding.

that horse was waaaaay to much horse for me at that time. I was around 11 when I got Perfect Doc, and although I had started riding at the age of 4, I didn't felt comfortable enough getting such an intense horse.
that gelding actually had been extensively used for stud until a couple of months before I went to see him, so he was a pretty intense horse.

anyways.. the breeder had another 22 horses living out in a pasture, not all really used to contact, almost all of them were pretty shy.
I went inside the pasture and the only one out of the 22 horses that came to me and didn't run from me was Perfect Doc.
he was a 2 year old gelding at that time, very sweet and curious little disproportionate looking thing haha

I spend about 30 mins inside the pasture with him and they knew they had a deal lol
my friends dad actually predicted: "that's the horse she'll wanna take home, that's the one for her!"

I did most of the training myself, I put him at a ranch for 1 month to get him used to having a saddle on his back and someone sitting on him and then I took over.
I teached him nearly everything so it has been a very nice experience!

lol, Knabstrupper, old breed of horse from Europe that has the same colouring as Appy's, they're making quite the comeback now though! To be completely honest, I didn't know you guys had Appy's over there! :D I've never seen a spotted Appy that expressed the leopard like that. In books and pictures, but not in person! Always blanketed, or roan spotted, that doesn't look as cool as the leopard spots like your boy! :D

Such a cool story on how you got him! '98, '99 baby is NOT that old! My old man's 21 this year ;) That's oooold! :D

You can never go wrong with a good QH. Although I've seen some gorgeous warmbloods for sale recently, price tag is just way to high for me!

He's just beautiful. In the second pic where it's just his neck and his nose is on the ground his markings look like a giraffe. He's certainly striking.

Wow! That pasture looks like an awesome place to meander about in! It's not too often around here that you see large pastures with large herds of horses!

All VERY COOL pics! Thanks so much for sharing! :D
