Man I would have one if they weren't so damn stinky! I could even smell them in the pet store! And I'm sure they clean those cages out more often than a person at home! Very cute!

he doesn't stink that bad besides i only have 1 and of course he's descented but ferrets have a musky smell just part of them lol

Raw fed ferrets do not stink. Ferrets in the stores live in filth and eat absolute shit food. My cage did not stink at ALL and I had four ferrets. Their cage was cleaned religiously, they had lots of out of cage time, and ate raw.

All ferrets do have a bit of a musk, but it's not a gross stink. And very mild with raw fed weasels.

    HEAR ME ROAR!!!

Very cute. All of the ferrets that I have met are adorable little trouble makers.

my ferret never been fed raw, i got him from a lady because he didn't get along with her ferret, and she gave me a bag of ferret food, i will try raw with him, she said he is not picky and will eat anything you give him, so i hope raw works with him if not, then im going to change his ferret food to evo ferret.

Adorable! Love his markings, is he pretty young? I always love seeing how much their coats can change from year to year. Definitely get him switched to raw if you can, makes such a difference in their odor, health and coat condition. I've got a couple ferrets myself left, one middle aged boy and a very senior sickly female that I don't think will live out the month unfortunately.

He is on living world ferret food, i have to switch that is shit food. He doesn't bite but when we rough play he uses his teeth but doesn't bite down to brake the skin, he is soft but im sure if he wasn't then ya it would hurt lol

Aw yay a fert! Hes cute. Welcome to the ferret club! ...I can't imagine having just one. My 4 keep each other entertained and if they didnt I think I would go mad haha.

Btw transitioning foods with ferrets is a PITA so be prepared. If your goal is to get to raw, you might have several steps to get there. I havent done it but I know my bunch were hard enough to switch from Marshalls crap to NV Instinct. They wouldn't touch duck soup or canned food ...or mice ....or raw meat lol. I don't have the money to spare on wasted food right now. :/

so do you guys just let these ferrets run around the house? Are they scared to death of your dogs? (if any of them have contact with them)

Mine have free reign of my bedroom. Plus a Ferret Nation cage that's taller than me. I think I've posted pictures of my set up in a picture thread I made under the exotic mammals section....

The ferrets ...scared? Ha! The cats are petrified of the ferrets because Stewie will kick their asses if they come in here. My dog is scared of them. Chop has been taught a healthy respect for them but it doesn't keep them from swarming him. Stewie even latched onto his leg one day and wouldn't let go. I had to pry him off. Meanwhile Chop just looked at me like "uh... little help please?"

He fits in there surprisingly lol
He is a cuddler, and a kisser too, you should totally get one :D
Im going to buy raw today just to see if he will take, if not i will it to the dogs and get him some other ferret food, i was thinking evo ferret, but owner said he is not picky so we will see
I lt mine run around in a different room away from the dogs, my dogs think its prey an i don't want anything to happen to him,
I have a ferret nation 182 for my guy, i want to get one more but apparently he doesn't get along with other ferrets i know i can make split the cage into 2 but i prefer him to have the whole cage not just half

Yeah I have the ramp put up closing off the upper half for Zorro since he is an ass and can't use the litterbox. He still gets let out but I have to watch him like a hawk. You want him? Lol
