    Hi all,
I'm a long time lurker, and I've recently taken in a lovely BT mini girl. I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself and my girl, Astrid. She's pretty small, about 30 pounds, and definitely tends to the lighter side of the scale. She's a very recent rescue, but is just adorable, and I can't help but want to show her off a bit. :D

I actually agree with Kamdon! (for once, I think? :p)

I used to have a mini... They're awesome little dogs! Do post more of your lovely girl :)

None of the other pics I have are very good. She's still too thin, and she's something of a whirlwind, so getting a decent shot isn't easy. However, here are a couple. She's small, and she's never going to have the substance that the more bullish BTs have, but I think she's lovely.

Wow she's a very cute petite girl! I think she's at a fine weight though its nice to see a fit Billy for once, if she gains more weight she will loose her waist and be fat.

Lovely girl! I wouldn't put an ounce of weight on her. Looks fine to me. :)

Here's a picture that I think better shows how ribby she still is. I don't think she needs to put on a lot, but some.

What a lot of people forget is that most mini EBTs are very terrier type ,so being built like the girl in this thread is the norm, her body type will not let her be built like a bully type .

Mrpedigree, if you read what I posted above, I have already stated that she is never going to be as substantial as a bully type, that's just fine. However, her current weight is not quite a healthy weight, and that's what I'm concerned about. I've followed a bit of the "fit vs fat" debate that goes on here and elsewhere, and it doesn't interest me. I want a healthy dog, regardless of type.

Personality wise, this girl is adorable. She'll cross the street to meet people, and she's great with other dogs. Our only problem is that it has been very difficult keeping her sedate after her spay. I'm counting down the days until she can resume her exercise schedule.

    OMG she's freeking adorable!!!
What rescue did you get her at? I've always wanted a little mini bull for my lapdog. :) (I'm not one for froo-froo purse dogs obviously) Is 30 lbs really on the small size for a mini?

i agree she could use some more weight not due to her ribs showing but you can see her spine quite visably and thats not a healthy weight for her.
although she is petite and more terrier type shes still a bull terrier and her shape is still more "barrel" like then other breeds (like say pitbulls) so while her shape seems great for pit for her shes undernourished a bit.
you can see her tummy doesnt have a clean "tuck" like other breeds do but like most bull terriers do more "barrel" like.

she sure is a little pretty girl! and good luck with her your life wont ever be the same!

30 pounds is definitely around the smallest I've seen. I've been working with BT rescue for a couple of years, so I haven't seen hundreds of dogs, but the rescue coordinator I worked with says she's small for a mini. I didn't particularly want a mini, I was looking to adopt a full sized Bully, but she actually worked out very well for us. The pictures above were taken nearly a week ago, she's already looking better. She's always going to be sleek, which I like; I just wanted her to fill out a bit.

She's A beauty. Forgot how much I love Trindles lol.
I'd definately keep her at that weight, I like a nice lean build.

Thanks for all the nice comments on my girl. She's settled in very well, and put on a little weight. I think she's just about where she needs to be. She's made it through her spay and crate rest with only a few bumps in the road, and her personality is just adorable. I can't take her out in public without people falling in love with her. :D
