    Evo. Innova. Blue Buffalo.
I use Blue Buffalo's "Wilderness" brand, wanna-be wolf diet theory. I love it because its grain free, nonmeat consists of vegatables and fruits. Meat/protein comes from several sources: chicken, chicken and turkey meal, salmon and whitefish meal. The protein rating is high at 42% (most puppy kibbles are around 26-28, maybe 30%, adult dogfood lower 20's), so just be aware of that.
Buy a slightly pricey brand but there comes a point where you just know youre getting ripped off so dont go overboard and buy something just based on price but you have to realize cheap foods are well made of cheap things. If youre shit's 1st ingredient if grain, say corn, go to pet store TOMORROW. But take your time researching, dont fall for fancy schmancy names and shiny bags (although Blue wilderness does have a fancy name and bag, it lives up to it imo)

I agree with Raoh, as far as other brands that are good and may be comparatively priced.

I would also add Taste of the Wild (another brand sold in natural food stores, which my dog is doing great on)

I have always been mildly curious about Avoderm, as it appears to be hijacking on the fact that avocados are undoubtedly good for people ... but I have not heard one way or the other about how well (or poorly) a dog has done on it.

I feed Steve's Real Food (a premade raw) to my puppy. If you are looking for a kibble, I have been told great things about Canidae as well because the meats are USDA approved for human consumption.

my sister has fed her lab and her mastiff avoderm for as long as i can remember and they both look great and are in great shape the only reason i dont feed it is because jake is allergic to rice and it has a lot of rice in it

I took a look at the ingredients list, as Avoderm has so many different formulas - some look good, others not so much. This company also makes Pinnacle, which I have used with great success. Their foods are all life stages, so good for both puppies and adult dogs.

I do not think anything looks wrong with your puppy formula, but if you can, I would suggest getting a higher quality food. I don't like seeing the same ingredient listed 3 times in a row, so high up on the list. To me, this suggests in fact there is MORE rice than there is chicken.

Your ingredients (the food is 26% protein, 16% fat):
Chicken Meal, Ground Whole Brown Rice, Ground Whole Rice, Rice Bran, Chicken Fat (Preserved with Mixed Tocopherols and Ascorbic Acid), Oat Bran, Avocado Meal, Flax Seed, Dried Alfalfa Meal, Avocado Oil, Herring Meal, Lecithin, Natural Flavor, Rosemary Extract, Sage Extract, Bromelain, Papain, Dried Bacillus Subtilis Fermentation Product, Dried Aspergillus Oryzae Fermentation Product, Monosodium Phosphate, Choline Chloride, Ferrous Sulfate, DL-Alpha Tocopherol Acetate (Source of Vitamin E), Zinc Oxide, Sodium Selenite, Manganous Oxide, Riboflavin Supplement (Source of Vitamin B Complex), Copper Sulfate, Zinc Methionine, Iron Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Cobalt Proteinate, Niacin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Biotin, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (Source of Vitamin B6), Calcium Iodate, Thiamine Mononitrate (Source of Vitamin B1), Folic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement.

Oh, and I want to add my personal choice for puppy kibble. Innova Puppy. Not only are the ingredients good, they have good manufacturing facilities. I trust them.
