''These dogs were renowned for their courage and tenacity and despite their ferocity in the pit were excellent companions and good with children. In fact it was not unknown for an injured dog to be transported home in a pram with the baby!''

I read this on one of the stafford sites and to me, this about sums up what I love about the bull and terrier breeds, specifically the APBT and SBT. I know everyone has their own take on what makes a quality dog, but to me, this is what they should be all about. I see this same attitude in my own dogs, even the ones like Tank who have that extreme high tendency towards dog/animal aggression but is just a complete mush with people never showing an ounce of aggression to any person, ever, even though his early years, no doubt his most important time, was with less then stellar handling, his love of people has never wavered. I just thought it was a cool quote so I thought I'd share. :)

Awww, I love that Zoe! I agree 100% with you! I love their attitude. I know some people love them for their physical strength, but I love them for their great big hearts and all the love they give humans! They are such an awesome breed, one I never want to not have in my life!:)

Thanks for sharing that! I agree with Mollie's Nana. Although they have many wonderful traits, my favorite is their ability to love people no matter what. I never want to be without this breed in my life either. Loki has and will continue to be our kids' best friend.

i have heard that one before. just about sums things up doesnt it. i remember once i had Nibs pulling Logan and Eve in the buggy when they were really small and this horrid old woman asked me if the dog was going to bite the children.i mean she was dragging the kids along in a stroller.....i told her that nibs loved the kids...but i sure wish i had said something like(you are smoking cigarettes for breakfast ,so,dont worry about my dog,she isnt going to be what does you in)

Great quote, I have always loved that one as well. When trying to convince my mother growing up to get a SBT I showed it to her. Despite that and many other things i showed her and my G-pa and uncles SBT she still wouldn't give. Now that I am on my one and she see ours mom sings a different tune.

If we can only get BSL supporters to understand the truth about it, man it'd be one of the happiest days of my life!
