My kennel setup

I was asked about my kennel set up so I thought I'd show a few pictures. Right now there are only eight kennels but there will eventually be ten and the alley between the kennels will have a gate where the steps are. That's on the schedule for this year as well as automatic waterers and eventually a mister system. It's been a long and evolving project, right around two years of working in spurts whenever we could, but we are finally nearing the end.

This is the outer double door of the shed that sits on one end of the kennels. We use it for loading in hay bales during the winter and dog food year round. The kennels sit right up against it now.

The deck is a great idea. That would work in the southwest too. The metal roof would need something underneath for the heat. We also need an elevated bed instead of a dog house. People put misters on their kennels out here too.

Thank you. We've liked it so far. The coating is rough enough that it files down toenails.. I got so frustrated with fighting fleas and flies I had to do something. I was spending hundreds trying to get them under control every summer and still losing. The deck has worked out well for us.

    We like the kid too.
