I just bought my newest bully and took him to my vet today and found out he has a bad case of whip and hook worm. He has been put on medicine and has to go back in 3 weeks to have another test done to make sure all the worms are gone. The vet told me that his case was very bad and that he might have had it since he was born since typically you do not see whip worm in puppies and if can be transferred from the mother . right now he weights just 7lbs at 13weeks and he is anemic from having the worms. Will this stunt his growth and muscle development or cause any long term effects on his health?

i bought my dog from a kennel that is well known in my area. he is utd on his shots and my vet called the breeder to let him know. he was very concerned and apologetic about it and went to his vet to treat all the dogs at his kennel

I don't know anything about the worms or their effect on growth but I just wanted to say Good Luck and I hope he gets all healed up soon!
