More people who shouldn't have ever gotten dogs

Sighhh it really seems like i am always surrounded by people who get dogs they can not care for...
My boyfriends aunt and uncle have got two dogs for their kids, a Chihuahua named Diva and a Yorkie named Sadie. They live on a road slightly off a really busy highway, and the dogs are always off leash, they had a small mutt that was hit by a car before they got Diva. Sadie has a REALLY bad ear infection, like so bad you can't even see the holes into her ears, and Sadie is very filthy. Their owners will sometimes forget to let them outside, and than they go to the bathroom and they get mad at the dogs saying "why don't you let us know you needed to go out". The dogs use to always have fleas, but they did finally get K9 advantix. Diva is a timid dog but very sweet for a Chihuahua, the kids like to scare her, so to get her to come up to you, you need to sit down and talk to her softly but once she realizes you're not scary she is pretty loving. They don't know how to walk on a leash and will freeze up unless offered chicken lol..
I am gonna make sure i find someone to take care of those ears!
But i finally got them to agree to getting rid of them, and i am going to try and help them find a home for them, i would like to try looking for some rescues in the Pa area as well

Oh and the best part about it is, they recently got an inground pool, a hot tub, and a fence, but they couldn't bother to block the holes by the steps nor do they only let them out in the fenced part.. But they can't "afford" to treat the ears

What's gonna stop them from getting more dogs to neglect once they forget about these?

IDk they just don't want the dogs anymore, they were gonna drop them off at the shelter but felt bad and asked me if i could try and help find them homes :/

They are cute! Others definition of care is sometimes not our own :-(

I will never understand the way some people prioritize things.

They're cute though. I'm sure it won't take long for someone to scoop them up. I know the shelter and rescues around here have no problem finding homes for little dogs.

No problem. If the parent club's can help keep the pure bred dogs out of shelters, I think that's the ideal situation for everyone :)

Eh, there's a lot of Chi lover's out there. My aunt got one after her old hound dog mutt died and her sons weren't evil boy children. She loves the little bastard.

But they can be weird shifty little monsters. I dog sat one over the summer, it was definitely a learning experience.

The trainer that ran the last group obedience classes Madison was in had a Chi and that little bastard was impressive. She treated it exactly like we do big dogs and it acted like it. No yapping or biting at people/dogs and was amazingly obedient. Wish I could say the same for the weiner dog some guy brought in.

Aww, good luck finding them homes! I sometimes wonder why people even get animals.

That chihuahua looks pretty identical to my sister's chihuahua. He's literally the smartest and most obedient chihuahua I have ever come across. That's because we treat him like a dog (aside from my mother, but he's still trained and not just a nasty annoying ankle biter.)

Anyways, I do hope they find good homes to go to.

This is an awesome little Chi too, also treated like a dog, but she doesn't take any crap (she actually reminds me of a Terrier). Maybe it's because she was raised by bull breeds.

Well a woman at one of the rescues i contacted said she would come look at them to see their temperaments (and they are sweet dogs) , and she was going to keep them until she could find a foster home,so i gave the owners her number, so they could set up a time to meet, That dog up there is beautiful by the way

So I found someone interested in the Yorkie Sadie, she took the dog to the vet before deciding whether to keep her or not and the infections in her ears are in desperate need of surgury that would be between $600-$800 for each ear and the vet is surprised the dog could still hear, she called me back and said she didn't want to spend that much money on a dog that she just met, but changed her mind about it once she she drove back and was gonna hand me the dog... I know she will take good care of her, she is a client where I work and she takes great care of her dogs , spoils them way more than I do and would all around be a welcomed change for Sadie...

That's wonderful news! Anyone willing to spend that kind of money on a new dog (that they haven't had a chance to bond with), is probably going to be a pretty good owner.
