So, wait, that says that there is still a raffle for FB. What's going on?

The AADR is not affiliated with them. But they are still having a show. It sounds like they are trying to start a registry or something. I guess I should call the contact info!

I believe the show is going to take place. Just seems like some weird stuff is going on.

visit the site USDOGS.NET and see for yourself what is going on.

Floyd Boudreaux is the Vice President, this show is a benefit for him and his legal fund, but the USDO is an ongoing endeavor by some very longtime, well-respected dog folks.

Anyone trying to urge folks not to go or give money for it clearly has an agenda besides helping a well respected dogman keep up his fight against the dog killers.

everyone should be sure to have a peek at the board members:

But there are no points. Why would people travel for a supposed point show when it's going to be nothing more than a fun show now?

shadowwolf you apparently have not reviewed the links included or you would have seen there are points.

and maybe some people actually think it's important to support a genuine legend in the dogs who was terribly wronged by the ARs and who needs the community's help to see his fight against them through, regardless. They might also enjoy meeting him, and other friends and great dog people or participating in the events and/or raffles, in addition to other benefits.

With which registry? And as to helping a legend, I donated when he was wronged originally.

Not trying to stop anything, I wish you luck.

I was just confused on the whole AADR dropping out, and they seemed to state that it was no longer for FB, but now it still is. So, since it still is, I hope you get a great attendance.

It has always been to benefit floyd and he has always been our VP, despite anything said to the contrary. thanks for your support.

Nothing wrong with a fun show.

IMO getting together with other APBT owners, lovers, and fanciers and having a good time is way more important than getting points on a showdog which mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Showing should be done for fun and to socialize, not some pathetic attempt to tell the whole world that you have the bestest looking APBT thus everyone should come to you wanting to breed to your fabulous looking specimen. Looks come far second in this breed. So while showing has its place, I do not and will never understand the uppity mentality of many involved in the show circuit.

I plan on being there if for nothing more than having a good time and meeting some great folk and wonderful dogs.

    Well said, Mia.

A fun show definitely has its place, and is a great place, especially if someone is new to the whole "show" world.

I can understand not wanting to driving halfway across the country to go to a fun show, but it's a good event for those not too far away, and this particular show has a good reason, i.e. helping out FB.

IT IS NOT A "FUN SHOW"!

there is nothing wrong with fun shows but that is not what this is. I don't know why people keep saying that.

the USDO is a new organization. many of the people that are starting this group are people who helped get other groups (including a registry) off the ground. LOOK at the board of directors! do you think all these people got together to have a fun show?

at this point we think that 'registering' (and the associated personal profit) is not what is important but offering good, professional events that display the best image of the breed and at the same time help its owner's when needed.

we are keeping track of points and are awarding Dog of the Year, Dogman of the Year and Competitor of the Year Awards at the end of next year and this show's points will count towards that. Dogs must be registered with some recognized APBT registry and there are rules, procedures and a non-profit corporation.

it is unfortunate that there are those who could have anything negative to say (and that includes downtalking our efforts as 'nothing but a fun show') about such an honest, straightforward and virtuous cause and effort.

USDO, Maybe what you need to do, on all these forums, is create and communicate a mission statement.

Finding out about the USDO via a change in a show venue may not have been the best avenue to communicate the new organization. Some people are resistant to change, no matter how good it may be.

You have a great board, your first event looks like it's going to be a success, and we here at PBC and Game-Dog wish you much success in all your endeavors.:)

USDO, my post was not directed at you.

I think this show will be great and I support new organizations getting up off the ground. I think the APBT world needs all the reputable ones we can get!

My post was aimed at those who think that if it's not ADBA or AADR, it's a waste of time.

Yeah, USDO, I don't think it's people "hating" on you.

I think it was just a confusing transition. It seemed like first you were a club having a show with the AADR, and now you are your own registry. That may not be the case, but that's how it appeared.

If you have any events in NC, then I'd love to attend.

Just trying to get a better understanding of what is going on. Not trying to hate.

We don't have the time to make some long term board commitment, we're busy doing our own positive things. we were alerted that there were people on here and only a couple other places that were trying to convince people it was cancelled or not a benefit for the Boudreauxs.

we wanted to correct the mis-impressions being put forth about what was going on. some people may or may not like what we are doing or change or whatever. I personally think those that don't, don't have pure intentions, but now the facts are there for those that want to see them. I don't know what else could be necessary to say at this time. For those who have some staying power (like us) more is always revealed in time, this is not that time.

we are not a registry! it's frustrating to have to repeat myself because people don't read. I don't feel like there is "hating" going on by any but a couple but those couple are sly and have had people repeating things like 'fun show' and 'registry' and 'cancelled' and 'not to benefit floyd'.

miakoda I didn't mean you, sorry if you took it that way.

I also wish people would just leave the info for people to see and stop muddying this thread up.
