I know Ive posted over here before but I just wanted to bring the topic up again because I think the classic Bull Terriers from the old days look so gorgeous! And Some of these BT dogs look SO MUCH like my Sammy that I feel like she HAS to have some old BT in her...

An Indian Bull Terrier (Gull Terrier)

    some other Indian BTs

    Old Tyme

    Hinks Bull Terrier

    and Finally my Sam

Me asking Sam ¨are you an APBT/BT mix?¨ and Sam replying ¨IDK Mom, ask the forum¨ lol

All of these are so much better-looking than the modern egg-head!

I like the egghead, its what attracted me at first to the breed. The old style is very nice as well. Your Sam looks very old school.

I don't mind the egg head shape, depending on the dog. Ill be honest, it took me a long time to like the look of Bull Terriers but I'm finally there.

Now there are some heads that i feel are a bit much.. just way too exaggerated.. i dont like those.

a LITTLE egg shape is ok to me.. like the BT in your avatar MachoBully but I dont like when its super exagerated

Its seems funny how people with poorly bred dogs that are lacking profile in their heads hate on the dogs with a proper head profile head ...just sayin .

How does liking a dog with a more normal non-show skull type make said dog poorly bred? Most BTs that I personally know of anyway with the more normal skull type are either hog dogs or engaged in other work and in that way, well bred to do what they're doing. Poorly bred for a show ring and actually poorly bred are two different spectrums of a scale

So what your trying to say ,like i am sure you have before, that having a rounder head hinders performance ?

Actually no, just that the show type was developed with a more sloping skull. And I've never said anything near the words you're trying to put in my mouth. I'm fine with any head type, provided it does not
    A) Hinder the animal's natural function
    B) Render the dog unable to work properly (working breeds).

Now I know a few people running BTs that will not use the rounder head, and I know some that will. If you'd like I'd be happy to ask them why

Some interesting reading but some of the opinions on there are bias to say the least..some of them made up on the spot
I have been around our breed all my life and can tell you now in my experience bite strength has very little to do with head shape .
I have seen round profile headed dogs that can hang off stuff for as long as they like and i have also seen dogs with lesser profiles do the same, and then have seen both head types not wanna do fcuk all in the way of anything like it:lol:
My findings its very much down to the individual dog.

His panties are in a bunch because he breeds VERY parrot-like heads. Not an insult, just a description, which is true.

Pedigree, No one here was insulting new style BTs, they were simply stating preferences. Quit crying "THEY DON'T LIKE MY DOGGY, THEY MUST BE DUMB". Not everyone has to like your style of dog, sorry.
