Looking for dog pool suggestions? Too many hot days. :-p

I'm looking for suggestions for a dog pool. I have been checking out Amazon and see many foldable inflatable pools and a few more expensive plastic one. Does anyone have any experience with any of these options?

Does anyone have a pool they love?

Diesel is nearly 65lbs now (8 months old) so I am also concerned about the size of the pools.

I also considered just getting one of those cheap plastic kid pools but I have a feeling the sun would destroy the plastic in no time...

    Appreciate any and all suggestions.

The kiddie pools are only a few bucks. I'd just get those. They're fine in the sun. Never had any issues. Just gotta make sure you clean it or toss it and get a new one.

Jazzy - That looks like a nice pool! I like that it is big enough for you to sit in there too. It has just been ridiculously hot here lately and we don't have ac so we are all suffering. The dogs have one of those cooling mats but Diesel won't use it. I've even used it before when the dogs aren't! It does work. lol

_unoriginal - I was thinking about the cheap kid pools also. I was hoping I would find something a bit bigger than those though. Glad to hear that the sun doesn't destroy the plastic though.

We used to have one in the dogs' outdoor kennel when I was growing up. I don't recall any issues except it was dirty a lot.

My brother put one in his yard for his dogs and one of the assholes took it upon himself to lay down next to it and chew on it lol they don't get pools anymore.

This is what Crash does to his pool and I've had this for 2 summers now. Works great and he still lays in it and nice to be able to just tip the water out, scrub with a brush and re-fill quickly.

Tonka just lies down in hers to cool off. Sometimes she waits a few minutes. I've been using it as a bath tub so I'm not sure if she will appreciate it the way she did before.

That video reminds me of Tonka. She does get very excited because she thinks it is a giant bowl of water.

I use this for Zeke. Each morning before going to work I throw a large chuck of ice in it especially when the days are 40 degree Celsius.

Not sure if he will fit in this one now he's grown so much!

A lot of farm supply stores have Galvanized stock tanks/water troughs that may work. They're obviously a more expensive solution than a cheap plastic kiddie pool, but they're durable and utilitarian-priced. Sizes and shapes might not be ideal, but if you just need a way for the dog to take a quick dip to cool off, I've seen 2x4 ft oval shaped for about $60.
