Hey PBC. I am in the works to open a brick and mortar store so I need your help. I know the 3 basic food I will be selling around here b/c I know it will sell, but I need help with what I else I can sell. I need to know what type of feed you would buy if you came to my place as well and any other food/ treat/supplement u wish you could get at a store. My store is mainly bully related I.e. Heavy duty dog supplies, so of couse any suggestions will be appreciated. ( No live animals will be sold. ) Thanks.

What are the 3 foods you will be selling?

I would like to see Natura products, TOTW, Champion products, and even raw options.

I agree with the wider, quality collars. All I ever find at pet stores are 1" cheap looking nylon collars.

I feed Nature's Variety Instinct and can never find it at pet stores. :-(

I know a lot of people on here feed TOTW and Blue Buffalo.

I would stock stuff you use yourself, I have been really happy feeding Orijen to my pup. Its expensive as hell but as long as Brooklyn is healthy and happy she's worth her weight in gold to me. And nice thick 1.5"+ collars are hard to come by in stores. Only one store in my area has them, Leather or nylon

Geneflora has been a good addition to my dogs diet, no licking paws, no ear discharge, less shedding, no runny poo, and less farting.

yea I vote for Stillwater Kennel Collars lol you can buy in bulk and sell for more money, no way they would be breaking and returned hehe. I also Vote on TOTW and Innova and Evo for foods, I would see about if you could get in with someone that makes good weight pulling harnesses to special order where you can make a bit from the item because they would be going through you. Also proper Chains for chain spots and posts (hehe car axles for sale would be great :LD )

Well I know I already have evo in the works cause u can't get it around here. Totw is another as well as black gold ( cause all the cheap folks, and its a pretty good feed for the price). I have already talked to stillwater about wholesaling n that's locked in. Like I said its a pretty specific store selling heavy duty yet quality stuff for our dogs. Is there a company that sells prepackaged raw? I could get a cooler. I am also going to sell rmbones. I have a butcher who I talked to is giving me deals so I could do that as well. Right now I gotta get all my plans so I know exactly what I'm doing before I walk into the bank for a check. Lol.

Also I thought about that as well I am going to look like a mini hardware store with chain and snaps and swivels n such.

I know Nature's Variety has prepackaged raw. There is also Stella and Chewey's. Aunt Jeni's is a local one around here (MD/PA area). I do my own raw though, prepackaged is too expensive. If you are setting up deals with a butcher, you could get a list of people and sort of deal raw from the butcher through your store? of get some and freeze it to sell. I would love something like that where I live. Right now I have to buy 2 months worth at a time from a co-op that is about 1-2 hrs away.

why sell stillwater for more? most of use would go directly to stillwater to buy cheaper. JMO.

I agree you should sell what you use and know the quality of.

I for one would like to see cheaper hides sold in bulk and single. (rabbit, deer, cow ect)
maybe some chain set up equ too?

He would sell for more because he needs to make a profit.
I cannot imagine at Shane's prices that his wholesale prices are going to be much cheaper (they could be, I suppose, I guess it depends on how much bulk is bought), and why should he sell them for what Shane sells them for?
What's the point in carrying them in the store if he doesn't but make back the money he spent to buy them?

We would go directly to Shane to buy his collars, but we're not the general public.
Not everyone knows about Still Water's collars.
And even if they did, chances are if they're in the store looking for a collar for their dog, it's because they need one RIGHT THEN.:D
If I could have gone out to a store and bought Luke a collar like Shane's the night I brought him home, I would have.
And I would have paid the extra just for the convenience.
