I agree with cliffdog but I do plan on asking hundreds of questions and making them show me proof of the registrations, health testing of parents and sibling, etc.... IF they ever write me back.

And that's a good thing. I'd definitely be interested in hearing what they say re: health testing and all of that.

I also contacted ATL King Pits regarding the health testing... We shall see where that goes! Lol

You're smarter than a lot of others then LOL. I couldn't imagine pay 3k for a DOG in general.. it'd have to poop gold for me to pay that price

Hahaha well I want to get into showing to so I figured I'm not going to find a good "show quality" dog that's healthy for just a couple hundred dollars... Unfortunately! I do plan on visiting an akbc show and asking questions about some breeders and stuff if someone has a particular dog that I like! Hopefully that will help. I'm not in any hurry, so I have plenty of time for research!

He used to be a member here. You can use the members list to find his name and locate some of his old posts.

I'm staying out of the AmBully thing, but if he labels and sells AmBullies under the "APBT" name, then things are still being done wrong. If you are purposefully mislead about one thing, what else are you being mislead about.........

And then, of course, there's the prices which will cost you 6 months of your mortgage money. :D

1. This should have been moved to the American Bully forum.

2. We offer advice, but should not bash kennels. It's in our rules.

3. And this is why we keep our American Bully forum semi-private.

Unfortunately, ALL dogs in the Am Bully world are greatly over priced.

You can find a show quality ADBA-style APBT for a couple hundred bucks... but an Am Bully? No way! And their version of "show quality" is really based on size, from what I've seen... pocket, XXL, etc. without any real need for a sound structure. So good on you for wanting a healthy dog... but like Kady said, it's hard to find in the Am Bully world!

(ETA - do you know how damn long it took me to find this thread once it was moved? Damn it. lol)

Haha I know, I couldn't find it either, I thought it had been deleted so I posted another one then Kady posted the link.. It had been moved to the apbt breeding section first! Lol but I actually do believe I have found someone, another pbc'er recommended him, he has awesome show lines and I'm not exactly sure how much he sells the for but the one that recommended them said "I can tell you this... I paid no where near 3K". I checked out his dogs and they are gorgeous, very sound looking, healthy dogs! I'm waiting to hear back from him!

Oh and btw--- i wouldn't own an extreme or pocket bully... They don't look healthy at all and I feel so bad for them:( I much prefer the classic!

Love them Classic's K,good choice....:)

Some kennel's like to "hype up" the price of some of these dog's,and I guarantee they get no where near what they say some of those dog's go for.Especially in today's economy, not to many people are willing to drop 3k to 5k on a pup.I would never consider paying that much, you can find a very nice quality pup for a whole lot less.Keep doing your research and you'll find what your looking for.Your headed in the right direction..;)

Thanks ~Lucas~!! I surely hope I am! I really hope your friend considers me:) I might not exactly know how to show a dog at first but that doesn't mean we won't get there eventually, and he or she deff won't be lacking in the love/health department either. I can't say that I'm neccessarily WILLING to spend 3K on one but if I can't find any other options, it's not really optional. Lol I deff wouldn't spend that on a non health tested, non show background dog.

I know this "Lions Gate" is a member here, and they have posted some things that are very big red flags, specifically when it comes to bringing dogs to dog parks. Here is a link to their posts:

onestly, I would never support someone who that crap comes from, they are just going to be further tarnishing the image of the American Bully and the American Pit Bull Terrier.

That's because the APBT is the working man's dog at the working man's price while the AmBully is a fancy bred-for-looks dog. More "glamorous".... You can get a good APBT for free if you know somebody, I dunno if the same is true in the AmBully world.

K -

Sorry that none of us ever got back to you. LGK has ceased breeding and we've taken a step from that aspect of the APBT/AmBully all together. We took several major losses to our program over the last year and it made us realize that spending more time with the dogs we had, while we had them, was much more important.

If you've found a kennel for your purchase, congratulations and best of luck. If not - you should check out Blue Streak Kennels which is located near Gainesville, FL. Lesa Howell is the owner and she is an active in UKC shows, dock diving competitions, weightpull and she does health test all of her stock.

As for everyone else's posts/responses - nothing will ever amaze me more than the amount of speculation and condemnation that the APBT/AmBully community spews at one another. Not a single one of you who commented on my views/beliefs/posts have ever had a conversation with me, been to my yard or ever met one of my dogs. Explaining my methodologies & beliefs to you would be as productive as pi$$ing into the wind - you believe only what you have seen and what you know. Whether my dogs are APBT/AmBullys doesn't matter - what does matter is that unlike those of you who keep your dogs chained, kenneled or simply confined within your own back yards - my dogs got out, saw the world, interacted with other dogs and helped change the perception people had of the APBT. I still take a dog with me to malls, Home Depot, restaurants and any other place that pets are allowed by way of FL law.

Hate me, disagree with me, say what you like - in the end I did what I did, experienced ZERO public incidents and proved that what y'all say CAN'T be done...can indeed be accomplished.

Have a great day and Happy Holidays to everyone.

..And you were saying something about making speculations?..because i wonder who these people are exactly that your referring to.

And yes, you changed public perception of the APBT alright, now the average person thinks APBT's weigh around 80-100 lbs, with over sized heads, and short legs. Congrats.

LMAO! That is awesome Fieldmarshal. Yeah he wants to breed mixed breed currs, but wants to peddle under the name of the APBT. Sadly still a HUGE problem in the American Bully world. :(

Thanks for making me laugh tonight! :)

Well of course you had no incidents with your dogs inn dog parks, they aren't anywhere close to being APBT's. And that xl pit bull shit is retarded. It really makes me sick to hear AmBully breeders continuing to call their dogs APBT's. Be proud of what you have and call it what it is and stp calling ti what its not.
