Would just like to hear people's opinions about either bloodline, and if you have had experience with either. Thank you.

I have a girl that is mainly game bred but goes back to some Lar-San stuff in some of her ped. She's probably not a good example though as she's not very strong in the blood. lol

I believe Leslie H has some Lar San / Sarona dogs. She's pretty active in conformation, agility, weight pull, etc. So hopefully she chimes in here.

I like what I have seen of the Lar-san/Sarona dogs...they seem to do well in the working world. What are your intentions with the dog? Do you have a certain pup or dog in mind?

Never had Sarona but been happy with my Lar-San-ish dogs. Pretty nice rednose dogs with brains, drive, and often the ability to do well in both UKC an ADBA. The very first dual UKC/ADBA GRCH (now ADBA GRCH1) is heavy Lar-San.

Ok, now I'm wondering if I'm getting people and/or dogs mixed up here. I think I meant you bahamutt and not Leslie but you say you don't have any Sarona blood? Maybe it was only Lar-San I was thinking of? I'm confuzzled lol. Forget my previous post... Ive lost my mind haha.

I am getting a male from Roki in about 7 weeks. Lar-san/ Sarona. I was just checking to see what others have to say about the breed. I do understand they are removed from game lines. And I have read that others do refer to them as Amstaffs. To each their own!

I would like to see more examples of these two lines if anyone has any pics to share.

I do not think Sandy Comer of Lar-san Kennels did much Am Staff breedings.
A friend of mine used to have a great male she got from Lar-san kennels.

He had an awesome temperament.

Lar-san was known more for their APBT line then their Am Staff lines.
They did do some mixing with their APBT and Am Staffs but did keep them separated for the most part.
I used to show with Sandy back in the day and her dogs where very nice and had very good conf. and temeperments.
Same with Roki's dogs. I used to show with them back int he day too before they moved out OF Ca.

My 2 older girls have Lar San blood. Xanny is about 3/4 Lar San, Soleil a little over half.

Both of them are great dogs, though each have some shortcomings. Neither of mine have enough Sarona blood to justify mentioning it, IMO. Both of them have good working drives and work ethics, and structure that allows them to perform. Pretty too. It was found that some of the Lar San dogs carry the gene for day blindness. Both of my dogs have had hips/elbows/patellas x-rayed and cardiac checked.

That is awesome this thread got moved to AmStaffs. I do consider them APBT'S, even if they are far removed from game lines.

Always a few smart-asses that come out whenever Lar-San is mentioned and feel they must call it an AmStaff line. Don't let it bother you. People who own the dogs know what they have. :)

Ah oh, we got another one from the amstaff peanut gallery. The Lar San, Wilrox and Sarona rednose line are legitimate bulldogs that excel in weight pull and catch work. Even Richard Stratton considers them a modern descendant of the OFRN dogs if the ped contains Lightener's Vick, Harvey's Red Devil, Williams Cyclone, Wallace's Searcy Jeff and Ferguson's Centipede. Hempill/Wallace foundations. They make great outrossings with other game lines--- known for there stable temperaments, intelligence, fearless disposition and relentless prey drive. My house dog is a Lar San/Wilrox, Boogieman X Redboy/Bolio and Eli scatterbred and he is 100% Bulldog! Old thread, but when I saw the ignorance I just had to comment
