In the system I think of, it wouldn't be possible to illegally have babies. And it doesn't favor the rich...someone with an average yearly salary of $12,000 shouldn't have a kid....lol. An evaluation would be better than no evaluation at all.

But it's okay, I'll just be Hitler. I honestly don't care.

You mean like the system we have now where it wouldnt be possible to illegally have drugs? well atleast that was the idea.

I am sorry, but no such system is possible in the real world. There will always be ways of going around the system, especially since the govt is able to do it, you have to account for corruption, and the black market.

Since that power is left to the govt, what makes you think it will be $12,000 and not $120,000? Because the govt can throw out whatever number they want and say, that is the minimum amount you need to make to properly take care of a child with respect to govt parenthood standards, which also is something they make up.

No amount of "evauluation" can tell you what kind of parent someone is going to be. Because no evaluation can predict the future, unless ofcourse there is magic powers involved.

This is kind of how I feel, and i think if there is a god, he, she, or it probably likes adoption better than over population. BUT I also feel that no part of reproduction, marriage, etc. is any of the goverment's business. I think if a lady wants to marry 4 gay men who have orgies without her and give her semen in a cup which she can use to have 25 babies then that should be allowed. Also, my husband used to have a receptionist who was an older lady and she had to take some time off when HER UTERUS FELL OUT!!!!!!!

You are so ridiculous, I am at a loss for words. FYI, rich people abuse their children, too. Fieldmarshall brought up the most valid argument in regards to your ideas. Who gets to set the standard? What makes someone "Good enough" to have children?

My opinion on the Duggar family is much like yours Teal. I don't see a darn thing wrong with them having 20 kids,if they want. The kids are all well mannered, happy kids, supported by the family income 100%,they live DEBT FREE,and seem to be a strong family unit.Honestly,I wished MORE families took as good of care of their own kids as the Duggars do theirs. They get 2 thumbs up for being good parents from me.

As for HAVING 20 children,I know I wouldn't want that many kids.More power to her if she does.I'm sure they must just fall out of her by now, anyways.I have no idea how she holds her urine, pushes out the babies,or how Mr.Duggar still can 'fit' to make the next one. There has to be a fair amount of tone loss and loss of elasticity there, either that or she has a womb of steel.

As for the mother dying in childbirth -it's allways a 'risk' for ANY pregnancy to have fatal consequences(esspecially older mothers). The last child the Duggars had was premature delivery due to health issues of the mother(preeclampsia I believe) wich is at a high risk to occur again. There are some preventative measures that can be done to help the baby to term. Also as a woman ages, she does also increase the risk of developmental issues with her baby, and it's usually not reccommended to have kids past 35-40yrs of age as egg quality deteriorates at that point.(raises risk for the child to come out delayed or other abnormalities)

To answer your question from a religious standpoint,I think the medical interventions like antibiotics and such are ''permitted'' by GOD because the medical interventions are to 'preserve life' and the birth control 'takes life'.Most of the mormon's I know feel the soul enters the baby at conception of the child,so birth control would fall under the same thought as abortion, only your aborting at conception-not later in term.Abortion is seen as committing murder(taking life of the newly conceived child) and considered as a sin.

One could also argue that god was using the doctors as a tool to save the life of the mother/baby,so it may be considered as gods will.If he really wanted to have them go to heaven, even the doctor's would not be able to save them.

Just as an aside... Michelle Duggar is only 45 years old. With science allowing women who are 70 years old to have babies, she's still relatively young! lol.

Really, I think everyone's opinions on her BODY are the most pointless things I've ever heard. It's her body. She has every right to do it as she wishes, even if you don't agree with what she is doing! So what if her body probably now doesn't fit the "ideals" society has? Maybe her breasts are saggy... maybe she has some flabbiness under the dress... maybe her vagina isn't as tight as it was... WHY does that matter to YOU? lol Some people aren't stuck on physical non-issues like that.

I think I'm just trying to wrap my mind around the whole, almost every time you have sex, you end up pregnant. Spending almost 20 whole years of your life pregnant? Yuck.

---------- Post added at 08:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:21 PM ----------

Wow, really? Hmmm, your high school didn't have a very impressive reading list did it? Because a lot of crap you're trying to say, the pros, cons and consequences are pretty well outlined. The first 2 books that come to mind are 1984 and The Handmaid's Tale. I'll forgive you, you live in the South, and not the fancy shmancy North like me and all our book learnin'.

And look how "far" the system and it's regulations has brought us.

Yearly salary doesn't mean dick if you use it properly. Look at all the dumb rich fucks who go bankrupt because they make $120,000 a year, and somehow manage to live beyond their financial means trying to keep up with appearances and new technological crap, huge houses... So say these people, pass your magical test. Procreate successfully. Then go bankrupt when the kid is 3 because not only did their kid need to wear the latest fashions, have the newest crap, fancy food, but they needed 3 Hummers, a 5,000 square foot house for the 2 of them and their one kid, a boat, nice clothes and jewelry for them of course, and all that other useless shit people buy. What would your magical system do then? Put the kid back into the system? Shuffle it from home to home?

And once again, who on earth is good enough to do the evaluating? You? Me? (Well, maybe me.) Who has the right to concoct those standards? Corrupt government officials? Local health services drones?

I make about $9,000 a year. That's it. With that, I can properly care for 4 dogs, their food, vet visits, upkeep etc. I own my own house. I pay my taxes. I pay my bills on time. I put gas in the van. Shit I even drink a lot and smoke a good deal of pot. WITH NINE GRAND A YEAR. I can guaran-f*ing-tee you, if I made that extra $3,000 a year, I could not only afford a kid, but that kid would be more well cared for and well educated than the child of the rich f*s your system would instantly approve for breeding.

Shit, my parents raised 2 kids on $15,000 a year for about a decade. Paid everything on time, had their own trailer in their name and just paid the lot rent (I know, EWWW trailers, they must be parasite ridden, malnourished and white trash), had 2 cars, and even managed to save money and get us kids some (but not all) of the stupid shit we wanted for birthdays and what not.

LOL,I told her yesterday that she should read 1984. It definitely popped into my head when I read her posts. I didn't even think about The Handmaid's Tale, that's a good one, too.

I think 1 kid is too many, but many people think I have too many dogs so to each their own! As long as they can afford them and take care of them properly I don't care what they do.

I don't have children, don't plan on having any as I have never wanted them. I can tolerate them for a short time, but that is about it. If I ever were to have a child, I would adopt as I would want to pick it out rather than leave it up the chance!

the only reason they are having so darn many is becuase of the pablicity those poor kids! theres no way in hell each one gets enough attention from there parents i mean if one of them in having trouble with another child what are they gonna do tell them to knock it off and expect them to? they dont have the time to deal with a single kids issues, feelings ect. i seen one episode where they went to dolly world or somthing the mom and dad walked along and made the other kids deal with there others!! its like those kids are born into adult hood they have to be taking care of the youngers iblings becuase the parents dont have enough time to or from what i seen just dont want to.
good mothers dont ignore there kids goodm others dont force theo ther kids to grow into adults by the age of 5 seriously one show i seen a 5 year old having to deal with a baby having to carry it around and stuff ill bet everyone of those kids grows up with mental issues feeling unloved and ignored becuase well heck they are! why even have that seriosuly if your not a parnet think about it like this imagine owning 20 dogs 20 of them do you really think your going to have the time to give each and everyone of the the individual time they need? surey ou give them food water and vet care but what about mental stability? and human interaction? you just cant do it now think about humans and children no less growing up having alot of questions, worries, fears, problems there 12 year old siblings aint gonna be able to help them deal with!

i just feel sorry for those kids

I bet the first kid has some sort of "Mommy didn't love me enough so she had 19 other kids" complex.
  18. Tahlz

It's her choice, I do and I don't have a issue. x-chairity has a point. There's no way she could give them enough one on one time or the time some of then may actually need. I am glad she can provide for them but yes, I don't love the idea she has 20 kids. About her adopting; yes, it would have been awesome if she adopted 20 kids but honestly, some people don't want to adopt. I hate saying that and I wish more people would because so many kids need homes but you can't force some one to adopt. Plus, the cost of adoption and the wait. I myself will never have kids but if was going to, I don't know if I'd adopt or not. I'm concerned about getting a real screwed up child and no, I wouldn't want that. I don't mind a dog with issues but a kid, I'd prefer not to have to deal with it. My mum works for a company that fosters children and it's so sad how screwed up so many of them are. So. I'm 50/50 with her choice of having 20 kids. I just hope she stops having them. I hate religion honestly and I wish she wasn't so religious. I don't think she needs more then 20. She needs to use something. I think it's ridiculous she won't use something to prevent her from getting pregnant because of her religion but that's her choice.

God, your posts bug me. Giants paragraphs that lack punctuation, spelling, AND knowledge of the subject!

This is THE most modest family I've ever seen evidence of. Very humble and thankful.

I don't think most people on here are questioning her RIGHT to do as she wishes. With the exception of one member, I think most of us believe in her right to have 20 kids or more. I do think people have their own opinions or are making observations of the situation. As to what it is doing to her body, I think it is just people's observations, that is all.

As for her having a prolapsed uterus, that can happen to any woman after having children. Sad and uncomfortable fact. My sister who had 4 had this issue and had to have a hysterectomy.

They seem like a really nice family. They are taking care of their own children and everybody seems happy. It's their life and their choices and I think most agree with this and aren't advocating their rights to do so be taken away but people will still have their opinions.

As for Michelle Duggar, I think she looks pretty darn good for having that many children, she still has a very youthful look to her.
