    Piper is my cousins husky mix (I say coyote, but whatever lol) We took the dogs to the beach today since her and Willow get along pretty well (as long as Raj isn't around) Anyway...here she is!

    Great pics! That backpack is almost bigger than Willow, lol.

    Just looks like a real nice sled dog IMO. I'd love to see her actually in shape! Not a fan of blue eyes though, just not my cup of tea.

    I love how if its not an oversized badly bred husky in the typical B&W or R&W its automatically a hybrid of coyote or wolf. :rolleyes:

    ALL colors are acceptable in "huskies" despite what the mainstream thinks and there are loads of nice distance dogs that color up north. And they are quite small dogs, like real APBT's are. Not at all the typical pet husky you see. Even purebred racing Sibe teams are built very different than what the mainstream would consider a "husky". If you ignore the difference in color, she's built a lot like my dog Lily is. Just not as ripped lol.

    Distance dogs tend to be lighter colored, especially lines that pull in Sepalla and Sep-Alta lines of Siberian into their programs, which heavily carry both the Agouti that Lily is and lots of very pale colors, often buff, reddish, or white and lots have that light saddleback tracing pattern. Some are pinto too. Whereas sprint race dogs tend to be really heavy in Pointer, have drop ears and much less double coated than distance dogs. Actually there's a young up and coming musher in the town I grew up in that is building a yard of AH's and Sepalla dogs. He's got some real nice dogs. My old farrier (she's not that old... its just been quite some time since my horse passed lol) gave him some AH's to start with, I guess she has always mushed and bred sled dogs. Wish I'd known that when I was a kid!
    She's a washed out saddleback color. Real nice sled dog mutt. I'd really love to see her with muscle.

    For the record, I've had this dog called a coyote many times too. When she really obviously is not.

    And this has to be a wolf apparently. Nevermind that she looks exactly like a plush coat GSD if she doesn't have her happy curly tail up. :rolleyes:

    98% sure this was the litter Scout was born into... not sure which one is her (my gut says the far right one), but the people who adopted the girl with the small snip of white in the middle took it and their girl grew up to look EXACTLY like Scout, down to the bony topline, doofy grin, etc., except she's a grey sable and not a red sable like Scout is and her eyes are a little lighter.

    There were a lot of cream colored dogs that came out of that hoarding bust and the overall look (and various sweetness + issues in varying degrees) of the dogs is extremely consistent. The breeds involved were Sibe, several of the Belgian varieties (one purebred adult Malinois male was adopted out to a pet home, I've seen some pics of him), lots of GSD (obviously), and I would hazard a guess that there was some sighthound in the woodshed at some point given how they are built and what is normal weight for them.Its very common for distance bred dogs to have saluki or some other sighthound added in for endurance in the running. Probably more than you ever wanted to know about sled dogs! I joke that Lily is my well bred sled dog and Scout since I know her background obviously, is my crap bred sled dog. Its true and not necesarily a bad thing, they are both great.

    Please don't take this the wrong way, its just that there is just nearly as much lack of knowledge in the general public about sled dogs as there is about what is really an APBT. Which is fine because just like the a real bulldog most should not own a real sleddog. Except people are more likely to be trigger happy if they think its a hybrid, which IMO makes education all the more important. Most of the actual confirmed hybrids I've met were either yeah thats all wolf or looked like a lab mix, but interacting with it you could tell it was "other" because of how it acted and the noises it made. The confirmed coydogs I've seen pics of looked like medium sized shorthaired mutt dogs, not at all like this. Just saying!
    She might want to make sure that dog is wearing something very bright at all times because people are idiots and long line or no, someone could up and shoot her. You never know with people unfortunately.

    She really does have a coyote look to her! She is pretty though.

    Although I think my dogs would probably think she was a coyote and something to hunt down! Casper wants to eat any coyote/wolf looking creature he sees! He doesn't act like that towards any other type of dogs. But he goes for them like they are prey. And Greyhounds are what they use to hunt coyotes!

    Thanks =)
    She's barely a year old so yeah she is severely out of shape and IMO kind of ignored a lot. I had to push to get my cousin to bring her to the beach to have some fun.
