Cute dog. Was it swimming in somebody's pool?

I'd say it looks like a juvenile right now, not fully grown.

My neighbor said Teddy could protect himself against him. I don't know about that.

Did anyone call to have the bear picked up?

They were tracking it all day. I guess it headed back to the national forest around 3:00 p.m. In the afternoon.

I'm about 90% sure I heard a rattlesnake in the brush at the dog park yesterday. It was a dog park at a military reserve and almost always empty so a good place for fetch. Kiba kept looking at where the rattling was coming from, so we left!

WOW, that some wildlife you don't want to run into in the neighborhood.
Have any of you who mentioned seeing snakes done the rattlesnake avoidance training? or have any knowledge or opinion on it?

    Hi,

I've been wanting to do it but my husband is not on board. I think it would be good to teach them not to try to sniff out snakes in shrubs, etc. yesterday there was a snakeskin in the parkway and Tonka was all over the smell. That is not good.

There have been a few classes/seminars in my area! I believe they are free too, at least the first one. My previous dog didn't really care about snakes, but Kiba is interested in any and all critters she could potentially snatch...

Maybe we should take the pups together, my hubby thinks it is unnecessary, but if you want to explore and hike around here you need to be safe. I think it would be safer for the dogs, and kind of an alert system for the humans.
