Funny enough..i'd have to say american bulldog/apbt cross. My brother has one, as does my gf's brother (actually our brother's own littermate siblings) We know their parents, and the owner of the sire knows several generations leading up to these dogs. Now gator (gf's bro's dog) Looks like an amazing ambully. not overdone very muscular, too thick to pass for an apbt, beautiful head and face, blue brindle. His sister, tonka, my bro's dog...same deal all the way up to her face and color. Her muzzle looks a lot like this dog's somehow, she is a very dark brindle, and her face looks just like except dark brindle. i think the american bulldog presence would explain the size also. just my 2 cents. Both of those dogs are high drive with terrific personalities also. they sound a lot like your dog. I will add gator's lips are a bit thick too.

This is pretty much what I thought too, American Bulldog/APBT mix. He acts just like an American Bulldog (from what I've read about them) and is taller than the usual APBT but still has the head and some features of an APBT. Here's another pic that shows his big kisser.... :D

Thanks for all the responses..... :)
