Looks like this thread is much favored with wildside that came from Mtn man bandit strain. Even my chosen dog comes from him.

Alligator was a great dog and considered by many to have been the best catchweight apbts to have ever crossed the scratch line. Personally, I think gr. ch. Black Jack Jr. rivals him though for this position. Black Jack Jr. certainly has to have been the largest dog to have ever scratched since his chainweight was 80 #, but his conditioned was 60#. Along with that, nothing has ever made it out of the pit when matched into Black Jack Jr. and he's had some rough competition. The legendary Pit General was also said by the late Earl Tudor to have reminded him of Black Jack Jr.

Yea, I read about a topic or two about his history. Catchweight match is kinda rare these days. "Personally haven't seen one happening." It's even hard to run some test on a 50lbs dog, because there is not much to match with. Or maybe just in our side of the country. Read some few articles aswell that on 80's to 90's fights are mostly fought between 30lbs-45lbs. For these times.. people like to see the so-called fastlane dogs.

LOL, what happened to Trussell's Dum Dum and Patrick's Tombstone? Tombstone was a big dog at 70 lbs. Chainweight and Dum Dum was bigger than alligator chainweight (though both had the same conditioned weight.)
