Got myself a sewing machine, ordered 20 feet of seat belt and some thick D rings, then a little fabric for prettiness, boom slip collar! I'm considering attempting a harness next.

I like this style because you can put it on without having to slip it over the head, so it can be as snug as I like, then you just clip the leash to both rings and it cant come undone.

Opinions? Any changes I should make other than fixing some sloppy seams?

You could have a crack at tug toys that don’t tear in 5 seconds. Figure that out and you won’t have to worry about money.

Nice! Do you have a photo of it laying flat?
I started out making ONE agility collar for Rosie …..7 year ago. Now, a friend sells them in her store at the agility venue.
Where did you order your Ds and strap? I've got a place I order from, but am always looking, in case I can find better prices somewhere.

I don't have a flat pic, it's kind of wavy when not on the dog despite being ironed, looks fine when on though. I got them on amazon, they weren't a great price though. I also got some from D&B supply, but even though the tags said 2 inch inside length, it was HUGE and looked absurd.

If you're going to make more, check out strapworks.com for Ds. Their 2" lightwire aren't overly huge. The 2' heavywire are pretty chunky. I mostly use the lightwire.
They have quantity discounts, and super fast shipping, and all kinds of nylon strap, pretty much any width and color you want... which reminds me, I need to go place an order.
