been "sorta" seeing this girl long distance off an on for over a year. she's in l.a., i'm in hawaii. long story short, things are decent--not too hot and heavy: more than friends, less than lovers, kinda deal.

she has a yorky she rescued that is super cute and i've met him when in l.a. she's visiting right now and staying in waikiki, and i haven't had her over to the house yet, but i'm thinking if i do, yachi might jump and mouth on her. she seems to be a big dog person, but i haven't seen her w/ a 42 lbs playful bt jumping on her yet so i don't know how she will handle it.

yes, if she hates it, i'm done w her.

    thoughts?

Just do it. If she doesn't like a dog jumping on her she needs to be cut loose anyway. You're going to have to do it sooner or later. Might as well be now. Dogs are a good judge of character too, if your dog doesn't like her I'd run the other way! Lol

Yeah, I'm going to have to disagree here. I'm a dog lover, and I don't particularly care to have dogs I don't know jumping on me. Does it come with the territory? Yes, but that doesn't mean it isn't sometimes disconcerting. 42 pounds isn't huge, but it's still a lot of dog to have trouncing all over you. I also aim to have a dog that can greet people without knocking them over; Astrid is still working on her manners in that regard. Best thing to do here is be honest. Tell your gf Yachi is a bully, explain the nature of the breed, and warn her that your dog is...enthusiastic. If the first meeting doesn't work out, she'll understand that you aren't planning to get rid of your dog, so she'll either want to work on it, or she won't.

I think even if she doesnt "like" it as long as she doesnt hate him or get mad theres no harm done. :) However..if she is not a dog type girl...BYE BYE :P

Did I mean like in the sense that she'd be like ' oh yes, I love this so much, jump on me more!! Please! ' ? No. I don't know anyone like that. But I won't let people that are dicks to my dog because he gets excited and still jumps every once in awhile around him. I actually expect people to ignore him when they come in the house, some don't. But anyway. I'd just do it.

Sorry my last post was pretty confusing. I was just simply saying she doesn't have to LIKE him jumping on her. But she should understand it happens, and not flip out. So did you do it yet?
