Sasha, she's doing pretty well. We've been taking everything really, really slow, and she's definitely made a lot of progress. She seems more alert and in tune with us all the time, and her play with Carlos - which has always been positive - seems more even lately (that is, there are far fewer cuts on Carlos's face). She still has some issues, which I might ask you about in detail at some point; she seems highly trainable, but prone to seemingly-unprovoked snarliness. I know behaviorists don't think in these terms, but it's like she's unable to let her guard down and relax; sometimes she'll come up to one of us, lie on our lap or next to us, and after a few minutes, snarl and hop away, only to come back happy and wagging seconds later. I'm hoping this is something we can figure out, because otherwise she's a real sweetheart and seems eager for affection and to please. I've been treating her a lot when she comes to me and lies down on/near me in hopes that I can overcome whatever negative association she developed in her earlier life (if that's what it is).

My poor little car has suffered a great deal. Steering wheel, wiper and light stalks, handbrake, gear stick and knobs off radio.

I completely forgot about this awesome thread! Sonya has added some items to her achievements list: my laptop case, our bamboo place mats on the table (she jumped onto the table destroyed them all there, then jumped down without taking any of the mess down with her, so it was a little confusing figuring out why there was such destruction, but only on top of the table). Then the last thing she did that wasn't really destruction, but still annoying and somewhat funny: we have this long artificial grass in a vase on the floor, so she took out each grass piece and strategically placed it somewhere in the apartment, so we came back to a new carpet of grass stems! Very annoying to clean up!

I'm glad i keep mine crazy tired all the time, and under a close watch... i wouldn't be proud of my dog tearing all my shit up, when it was my fault it happened.

When i first brought Cesar home i had a box of misc fish supplys in my closet (his "crate") i pushed the box way toward the back and put a board overtop of it to prevent him getting into it i figured he was used to sleeping in a crate so i figured i didnt have to worry since all my clothes and stuff are on high shelves well he did good the first month no whimpering and if he did it was only minamal no tearing anything up then one morning i had to elave early and asked my mom to let Cesar out at 11am well she didnt she left him in till 2PM i came home to my box of fish supplys totally destroyed i was so not happy wityh my mom but so far he has not shredded anything i have not given him to shredd

omg rawkus is so friggin cute. i couldnt handle that kind of destruction tho, i just couldnt handle it i would be afraid my dog would ingest something and need surgery. working at a vet for 2 years i got to learn from others mistakes, ive seen dogs die from ingested stuffing, sewing needles, even a marijuana pipe (that dog was high too!) i watched my friends make several mistakes leaving there dog out and he destroyed blinds, candles, there couch, and than one day they listened to me and crated him! lol problem solved. except he ate through his first plastic crate until they got a metal one. lol

  17. Proud is not a word that springs to mind re: Millie's destructive tendancies !
She's well exercised, well trained, never left unattended for long periods . . . she just can't seem to resist wrecking cars ! She managed to destroy that seat in about five minutes whilst I was in a shop !
I did resort to putting a basket muzzle on here whenever I left her in the car but people would see it and immediately assume that she was a vicious dog. Not an image I wished to portray !

That reminds me of another situation I had with a dog that I babysat for three years (he was a doberman). He had to walk around with a muzzle because he literally attacked every tennis ball he saw and swallowed it whole. And he would find like 5 tennis balls on every walk and when you noticed, it would be too late. The owners resorted to the muzzle after having several surgeries to remove the balls. This was when I was in high school, so didn't know much about dog handling at that point :(

Belly decided to go for quality over quantity; she gnawed on my Rolex and Tag Carrera, Edward Green shoes and one of my bespoke suits that she managed to pull out of my closet. :no2: Yet every night she is back in my bed because she is absolutely amazing and makes me laugh. Luckily now that she is older she doesn't really stray from her toys.
