Thanks!! Yea.. This picture is a little older so I think that our tri (Juno) may have been only about 30-35 at this point whereas Rudy has been right around 50lb for the last few months. Juno is still not much taller than this picture, but she just keeps getting wider.

Im going to post some more pictures tonight when I get off of work.

So Im curious as to what everyone's opinion is with Juno.. I know that its hard to tell when they are pups and that some minis can be the same size as smaller standards.. but with her weight and age.. what would everyone lean more towards.. mini or standard?

I'm quite new to the breed myself, but I think that Juno looks like a small standard. I feel like the minis are different proportionally; bigger heads, shorter legs, etc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

I don't have any experience with minis, but when we adopted our Stella in January, she was somewhere between 8 months and a year, and she weighed 37 pounds. She seemed really small compared to Carlos (our white male), and we wondered if she might be a mini. But she's gained 10 pounds after being with us for just under three months; she's filled out a lot, and it's clear she's not a mini. How long have you had Juno?

I got her back in november when she was about 3 months old.. So weve had her for about 4-5 months now.

My late bloomer finally caught up! Barely grazing 17 inches and weighing in at 40 pounds. She is now 1 year and 10 months! :D
Why do her legs look so short? Hmm.

minis are very very small, like half the size than a standard. Juno is clearly a standard. in this thread
Arizona bull terrier Gathering and Meeting Scarletts Parents - Bull Terrier Pictures
it shows the little white female I met in person as a mini, the only mini I have seen in person, she was SMALL. She looked to be the size of a 3 month old pup, I could have picked her up with one hand. She might have been say, 20 pounds or so.

10-14 inches in height is the standard, anything higher should be faulted.
It is the same as a standard just a smaller package, "miniature bull terrier"!
Juno appears to be a smaller standard BT. In some countries the interbreeding of small standards and mini's is approved to increase the mini's gene pool.
Bulltlott, her legs don't look short, you're just used to looking at long legged examples of the breed.

In this video the breed winner is my boy's small brindle/white daughter. The AOM, red/white smut bitch is also his daughter from a different litter.

I must admit I have never been a huge fan of the minis ...they remind me of a bull terrier that has not matured properly...their heads most of the time lack depth and thickness imo .

I've seen some of the most amazing heads on minis.

Yea.. Ive seen quite a few minis that are way bigger than Juno.. but then again shes def not full grown.. the only thing that made me question it is her legs.. in the pictures u cant completely tell (i think both dogs look way bigger in pictures) but she has really short legs in comparison to Rudy..otherwise she seems like a standard...

The other thing was that her personality seemed to fall more in line with how people explained minis.. shes far more wild than our standard..constant ball of energy.. but at this point i just contribute that more to each dog having thier own personality.. Either way i still like to see what other people think:D

I havn't seen a mini in person to be honest, but I watched the terrier judging at crufts on tv, and the difference between the standard and mini was crazy, the mini looked like my dog did at 4 months. Yours looks way to big to be a mini. My dog has ultra short legs, he looks like he has the body of a standard, legs of a mini.

Trust me You will see far poorer heads on minis than you will standards ...i see my fair share of minis at shows and imho their never as impressive a specimen as a standard :no2:

Hmm...How long have minis been around compared to standards? Anyone know?

I LOVE minis. Perfect size IMO. And since I'm not too picky about head shape...Perfect match! :D

Here's one of Max I took today. He just turned 10 months old.

The thing about minis is a much smaller bull terrier with the same fiery personality, which can get them into trouble, if they get into it with a bigger dog, even a standard, they are more likely to get hurt and over powered.

They're just such a good size IMO! But yes you would have to watch them with scuffles. Little dog, HUGE ego.
My dachshund is like this. Sadly I can never let her off lead around other dogs. Where did I go wrong? But she loves her kitty friends.

Wow! Max looks like he's going to be a pretty big guy! He looks my girl's size and she's 22 months!
