Hey guys I'm new to this forum, My dog got shot by the police, looking for help!

This past Thursday my dog managed to escape the backyard and was in my front yard when a neighbor called the cops and the cops shot him I'm assuming to kill but ended up getting his front to legs shots, we are trying to save his legs so he can be the happy, loving and sweet dog that he is. I'm sure if my dog wasn't a pitbull he wouldn't gotten shot but we live in a world of prejudice, even with dogs. Thank y'all in advance, anything helps!

Police shoot all kinds of dogs, they can't assume a dog is friendly. I disagree with shooting any dog that approaches but I don't believe it is always breed prejudice, especially when there are dogs less than 10 lbs being shot as well.

I hope your boy gets better, I'm not able to donate as of right now but I would suggest posting some vet bills to help encourage people to donate.

I'm sorry your dog was injured. I hope you can help him. I cannot donate either. I would look on the national humane society website and look online for as many resources as possible.

Sorry to hear but we do not allow soliciting on this forum so I’ve removed your gofundme link.

I hope your dog recovers and that this serves as a warning that it is so important to contain your dogs. Yes, the prejudice surrounding this breed and type in general is bullshit, but that just means that we have to be even more vigilant as owners.
