Has anyone defeated anti-tethering legislation?

Anti-tethering legislation is being proposed in my county. So far, I've sent an email to my county legislators, contacted my senator, all of the local sportsman's clubs I could find, The Cavalry Group, the ADBA (someone on my friends list recommended I do that) and so far the only one who has responded has been the Cavalry Group, saying they would send me some information but I have not received it yet.

Has anyone successfully fought anti-tethering laws? I need all the help I can get.

Thank you!! I will check these out. I did get a call back from the US Sportsmen's Association, he told me they will look into it but since it's on such a hyper-local level, for now I should continue looking for local support.

No problem! Good luck... these laws are causing a world of problems for responsible owners.

Turns out I misread the date this was to be discussed at the meeting(today) and I missed it. UGH!!! But, my legislator called me after the meeting and said it was tabled because I guess they have heard some concerns from various people ("husky, beagle, and malamute people." Wish I could find out who these people are so I can join forces with them.) Anyway, he agreed to meet with me on Friday to talk about my concerns. I want to be as prepared as possible. I have a lot of work to do. Luckily, I have several years of experience in the advocacy world so I'm not too concerned in that regard, I just am curious if there are certain talking points that have worked for other areas. I've spent hours researching this since my friend, who works at a local shelter tipped me off on Monday.

I did find out that this movement seems to have originated from a grassroots "animal rights" -ish type group run by a rogue woman who takes pride in bragging about possibly being arrested over taking "custody" of dogs that she thinks shouldn't be with their owners. I'm SO excited about dealing with THAT bullshit.
