:O OH but aren't they with a Registry? Wouldn't that void the paperwork?

Excellent question !!! ... Should only keep the pups from competing in conformation shows (whose purpose is to determine best breeding stock) ... conformation shows that the American Pit Bull Registry doesn't have ... ever DOH !!!

While they are cute and I commend you on going to fix them, for a dog to be merle, at least one of the parents must also be merle, as merle is a semi-dominant gene, not recessive

This is a really interesting thread...I have to say lol
uhm OP I looked at your pups...they are very unique. Personally in my opinion they are products of some serious BYB trickery by you. I cannot imagine a responsible breeder allowing this sort of breeding to happen...I just can't see it. You said that you were getting them fixed correct? I believe that is the best thing that you can do since those genetics could risk being fatal to any litters.
Best of luck with them and I hope they do not have any more problems. Please take the time to post more pictures in our photography section =) I would love to see them grow!

I would honestly never trust the breeder that sold them to you again for a dog

I know *I* didn't call you a breeder, so I hope you aren't directing that at me.

Those are some seriously cute pups. But just the bone strucher SCREAMS Great Dane. The legs, and the paws do not resemble Apbt in any way.

    They are fucking cute though.

I have a papered mutt too so dont feel bad.

I don't think the bone structure is very dane-like at all. Maybe very very poorly bred, but even mine is poorly bred and light boned and looked much different structure wise at 8 weeks old:

MAN, what is up with this sudden influx of "Merle APBT" threads?

Lol he's got those magical harls and merles that come from brindles and blues. If you knew anything about genetics you would know how stupid you sound. Your pups are mutts, the dogs you think are the sire/dam, also mutts, even if they were out of that male they would be because the only reason anyone registers with APBR is to scam fools. I could go register all of my mutts through there right now if I wanted to throw away cash. Right on their website it says I can do it online, even though I don't know their history and ped lol! Just send a pic and some money. There's nothing wrong with a mutt, but those dogs are not purebred APBT anymore than any of mine are.

    BarbaraClark NuckingFuts

To the OP, no one is bashing mutts, no one is making fun of your dogs, no one is "high on papers" here. You came on here saying "My dogs are purebred APBTs I don't care what you say blahblahblah" when it has proven to you, thought science and genetics, that they are NOT.

Love the thread. I think the OP's pups are cool looking dogs. Love the markings. I also agree with most posters that they aren't APBTs, but then again a cool dog is a cool dog which entails a lot more than breed, color, papers etc. Some of the smartest, healthiest, and best looking dogs I have seen are of questionable origins. As are some of the best people also. We don't need no stinking papers. Papers are for wiping your ass. It's all about the dog to me. Enjoy those dogs, as how good a dogs they become has more to do with what you do than what is written on some piece of paper.
