I dont usually put too much stock on bloodlines when it comes to bullies. Since Gotti and RE dogs are everywhere, they run the whole gamut from nice to horribly deformed. I'd prefer to look at the parents, and the grandparents to get an idea of which dog to get. JMO
  3. I have an idea of what I want and who I want it from I am just really hesitant since I have never bought from a breeder before

Not many bully breeders do health testing, tis a shame, but that is one of the first things I'd look for--hips, elbows, heart. Check the pedigree for bad structure: bowing elbows and easty-westy feet, low backs, etc.

Check to see if demodectic mange has been an issue. Poor breeding led to many blue dogs having this.

Do the breeders DO anything with their dogs--Conformation, obedience, weightpull, etc?

keep in mind that having pretty looking dogs with nice temperament is not a reason to be breeding. The goal of a dog breeder is to better the breed.

have you visited an ABKC event before? That would be a great place to meet people and check out their dogs.
