What you really ment to say son is that you like to try and look smart to people whom mostly just don't know any better and most likely won't challenge what you say. Probably couldn't cut it over on gd so you came here because they'll be nice to you. =))

Short bus I wish you knew enough to have a good conversation with.
But like many over there you have talking mixed up with action.
You talk about things, I do things. Well I used to do things.
I am getting to be to damn old. Every year I see dog owners become more dumb.
They read a book or two and find someplace where most of the people know about the same as themselves.
Then they talk like they actually have done some of the things they talk about.
Even you, in the short time you have had dogs should be able to tell a bullshitter from the real thing.
I was raising dogs before you were even born. Did more things with them and did a better job than you will ever do.
Go on back over there where they have to be nice to you. You are beginning to bore me.
If you ever grow up and I am still alive we should talk again.
Maybe with a few more years you will realize you do not know everything.
Then you can really begin to learn.

Have a good one Short Bus.

Growing up poor with parents who were there for you versus growing up poor with no parents or parents who are involved in crime is not comparable.

Thank you for your service and as a soldier you know and understand that soldiers are very well trained for high stress violent situations. You know that they have better training than the average police officer when it comes to using deadly force and that they use far more deadly force than any cop out there. You also know they have strict rules of engagement. When they don’t follow their law what happens? That’s what police officers need.... I also understand fighting wars abroad versus policing civilians is not the same but in my opinion our officers need ROE not a code of conduct and need more training. Soldiers are trained extensively to de-escalate a situation and they are trained to do so with minimal force. Cops need be held accountable when excessive deadly force is used. Not just highly publicized cases but every single one.

No, I won’t because it’s said in a degrading, offensive, and hateful manner.

I agree with almost everything you said. I do have one question. Who do you think is to blame for the children growing up poor with no parents or parents who are involved in crime. Is that my fault? Is that my parent's fault? Is that the fault of the country, state, or city? Where do you think the fault lays?
In a city near where I live the rate of children born to single mothers in a year is above 90%. Who is to blame for that?

But you would encourage the use of the word by people of a certain color just for the purpose of selling records?

If you do not like that name I can call them what we mostly call them in mixed company. Democrats. Everyone knows who you are talking about anyway.

Yes, the country does need to take some of the blame as do we as people. We all play a little role and I don’t mean we as in literally you and I but we as a WHOLE.

Do you really think they are truly given the same fair chanced opportunities as you? I am not even talking about what we did to their ancestors I’m talking about now, today. And this also extends to our Hispanic/Latin members as well. Black men are sentenced harsher than white men for the same exact crime even when you account for different variables. Maybe not in Jackson as if you’ve mentioned Jackson a lot but you can’t go off of one location. They are less likely to get hired for the same exact job with same credentials just for the color of their skin and when they do get hired they are paid less in comparison. Cops view them to be more violent than your average white man. You say cops kill more whites than black and that’s true on paper but there are more whites, it’s simple math. Then there’s the whole having to teach your child to take some abuse by cops so they can live another day. These things don’t bother you? You say you truly want equality for all, where’s the equality in that?

People are racist without even knowing it and no, not everything is about race.

When my husband’s best friend is in his Army uniform people aren’t afraid of him. They don’t look at him like he doesn’t belong here, they aren’t afraid to say hello etc. but when that uniform is off and he comes by dressed down in comfort they don’t say hello, how is your day... they walk away when he says hello. That’s just how messed up our society is.

Their ancestors are long gone . I have ancestors who were slaves and ancestors who owned slaves. I have heard stories from both sides.
I can only talk about what happens around where I live. I will give one example.

A man was working in his garage working on a woman's car. The woman looked out the window and saw a man trying to break into a car on the lot. She owned the car and called the man to help her. He went out to stop the man from stealing the car and the man attacked him. They fought a minute or two and the man who was trying to steal the car was shot and killed. His mother came driving up. She had just let him out a block away and was waiting on him to get the car. The man from the garage was arrested for murder.
In the same city a woman emptied one gun on a man walking down the street then grab another gun and shot him some more. She was arrested but walked out of the jail a free woman.

Doesn't seem quite right to me.

As far as not getting hired for the same job, that is not around here. If a white person is hired they sue the employer for racism. In a city of 90% blacks guess who the jury believes? Same thing about pay.

Around here the criminals have learned if the resist arrest there is nothing a cop can do. The criminal just walks away and if the cop even says anything he is put on leave from his job.

As far as getting the same fair chance at opportunities. They sit in the same schools, have the same teachers, and have the same chance to learn. They are given priority in any college they want even though there are other people with better grades being turned down so the can go to college. When the government hires they are given extra points just because of their skin color.
I never was given those same chances.

You’re right... that’s not fair that she got to walk away and it truly is tragic what’s happening in Jackson... but overall, it’s not like that.

Like I said before, I think we all play a role. Members within that community included. Things remain in place because everything else trickles into each other.

As far as equal opportunity funding goes I am all for it. That applies to everyone and anyone who comes from educationally and economically disadvantaged backgrounds. That is something that helps families who are in similar situations as to when you were growing up. I do not gain any personal benefit from that and neither will my children but that does not bother me, I support it, and I guess that is where we differ.

You will be glad to know it costs tax payers much more to educate a child in Jackson than in any other city in the state.
The tax money they receive is much more than any other school. Not much of it makes it to the classroom.
I don't know if it happens in other states but Mississippi has one school complete with everything except children. A school fully staffed but no one to teach. I have often wondered what they do all day. I am told they just wait to cash that pay check.
Mississippi not only gives the children free meals at school, they send bag lunches home with them for anyone living at home. When school is out in the summer the school delivers meals to any child under 18 years old. Just the other day they decided to go an easier route. They give EBT cards to all of the parents for when school is not in session.
