Genetics Biology Teacher needs help

  1. Hi. I am a high school biology teacher trying to relates genetics to a favorite pet that many of my students have - pitbulls. I need to find out more about them before I can teach.

    - structure,
    - temperament,
    - diseases that can run in the breed,
    - color genetics to name a couple
    ***Though color is only skin deep and doesn't effect quality of the dog.

    This is a good start. Now I just have to look-up the Spanish equivalent on some of these terms. (Most of my students speak Spanish). :)

    I appreciate your direction and now can create some simple Punnett Square problems relating to an animal I know alot of my students already have an interest in.
