We have an OEB (we had 2, but a friend has the female now). Despite the fact that Chipper is dumber than our mailbox, he's got determination and he's got drive and he's a helluva lot more athletic that one would think (including me). He goes right along with the other dogs for 2 mile walks, is hell on the springpole (he likes it the most), and quite agile for his size.

And don't get me started on his fixation with the jolly ball.........

He may not be everyone's cup o' tea, but I would much rather an OEB than an EB any day.

I believe they are supposed to be "rennaisance bulldogs". Someone from game-dog.com has a dog from Gargoyle. It is a really good looking dog.

Personally, I wouldn't mind having one to guard my yard and dogs. That is, if they are actually any good compared to other guarding breeds. I am confident that there are much better dogs out there for guarding a yard and some dogs. Nevertheless, I think they are nice to look at.

I think they're cute. In a tree stump on steroids kind of way. Definitely not my cup of tea, but if you want a bulldog breed, perhaps that's one of the better ones.

Chipper does have much more of a guardian instinct than the APBTs do. Although I wouldn't consider him a guard dog, he definitely is the first to announce an "intruder" onto our property and he will get in between you & the other person until he feels comfortable that you are safe with the "intruder."

I have personally met two dogs from this breeder and LOVE the way the dogs look. They had terriffic personalities to boot!

Both Balrog and Black Widow live here in Portland.

Balrog showing the big dogs that little Bulldogs can do protection work too!
