Swimming would be the best thing when it is that hot.

I ordered one of those giant ones that you can have put away. It's only 3.5 ft though.

The 350 gallon will work for smaller dogs, need the 500 gallon for big dogs.

If he's sluggish due to the heat then my guess is he's at the wrong weight. The prekeep I use not only to prepare a dog, but also to prepare myself for the work ahead.

A mill is just a tool one still has to put the effort into warming a dog up & down and in between if your doing split sessions. Plenty of famous old dogmen were from Georgia most of them used hand walking as the basis of their keeps.

I actually rarely used the mill this time around, it threw a slat and I just moved away from it. It's not about work for me, it's about the dog! :)

We still work just not as hard when it's like that, you're a fool to work a dog just like you would on any normal day when it's 97 degrees with heat index and 100% humidity. If you want to run the risk of ruining or killing a dog, go right ahead, him winning best conditioned isn't worth him dying from heat exhaustion. I also disagree on the reason he is sluggish when it's like that, you can look out at a yard full of dogs in the heat and humidity and bet the majority is much more sluggish and kicked back VS the way they act when it doesn't feel like hells kitchen, not sure how being a pound or two over show weight is the wrong weight but people are entitled to their opinion lol.

You shouldn't assume someone's a fool because you don't know how to or are scared to work a dog if the weather changes or gets a little hot.
If you don't know the importance of having your dog at his correct weight throughout its keep, I'm not going to explain it to you. A lb or two is a big difference to any dog being worked. A yard of dogs ain't being shaped yours is, if he's sluggish it's your fault.
