  2. BARC St Louis Spay / Neuter Program is one of the best I have seen. They do have income restrictions and cater to lower income families.

BARC’s Furry Fix spay/neuter program is open to anyone who is on government assistance or can show proof of financial need, regardless of residency. Government assistance can be: WIC, Social Security, Social Security Disability, Medicaid, Food Stamps, IL Link Card, Section 8 Housing, etc. Our criteria for yearly low income is under $20,000 per individual or $32,000 per family. Proof of eligibility must be shown on surgery day!
BARC provides this wonderful community service to help families who want to do the right thing and fix their pets, but lack the financial means to do so.

If you qualify, you can make your pet’s appointment by emailing us at barcspay@aol.com. Please note BARC is only scheduling appointments via email at this time! So hurry while funding is available!!
BARC’s spay/neuter program is for OWNED PETS and not for anyone affiliated with rescue groups. We cannot provide this service for other organizations!!!

EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2009: Due to the overwhelming demand for our program, we request a minimum CASH copay of $5 per cat and $10 per dog in order to continue this service.

I was able to take advantage of this program while my husband and I were both laid off and only collecting unemployment. We also had to use the Bi-State Pet Food Pantry for a couple of months to help keep our dogs.

We were donating regularly to both of these fine programs and I am glad they were there for me and my family when we needed them in return.

I love spay Illinois! I go to them for my vaccines. We have a regular local vet we use for yrly exams but for vaccines spay Illinois is wonderful! And we just give our regular vet the vaccine updates. I don't know how else we would be able to care for three big dogs. <3 my pitbulls <3

    $50.00 - Pitbull Special

Unfortunately they have this little snippet added to it... However I have spoken to someone there who stated if you explain your story and they can justify the $50.00 charge then they'll do it.

*To receive a $50 Pit Bull spay/neuter surgery, dog must be your pet and either a Pit Bull or a primarily Pit Bull mix (mostly Pit Bull), and you must be receiving state or federal needs-based financial assistance )for example, food stamps, disability, unemployment). $50 surgery offer available only to dogs resident in Hampden, Hampshire, and Franklin county (MA) and Hartford county (CT). If you live elsewhere or don't receive needs-based state or federal assistance, we are happy to help your dog at our regular low prices.
