That's my problem with Tebow. All the hype, and his ego and attitude match, but I haven't seen it on the field yet. But maybe he will grow up. Elway was similar in his early years, but he sure delivered! My son named Larry - not sure why. But it is hilarious! He will jump straight up in the air, land, then stand on his hind feet and shake. All because the tv is talking to him. Stupid cat.

I will certainly try! It shouldn't be hard as long as the cardinals arent blacked out on tv here. Fitzgerald gets talked about a lot when the Cardinals are on.

Speaking of Tebow and college quarterbacks. Does anyone think that $cam Newton will transition to NFL play? Or do you believe he will try the same running type scramble and end up flat on his back wondering where the hell he is?

personally I like the flat on his back option. I think he is WAY overrated.

My cat, Larry, seriously watches the Cardinals play because he thinks they are talking about him every time the announcers say "Larry Fitzgerald". He does a dance every time he hears the name. I'll try to get it on video.I love this time of year!

Your cat and I would get along =) I'm sadly a Cardinals fan...we had our 1 good year, the rest of the time it's been the lovable losers in the worst division ever. Oh well...lol.

he (newton) disappointed me on his decisions. hopefully he will be a really good qb when it counts, i have steve smith on my fantasy team

Well we got off to a rough start, hope we can pull it together! Love my Niners and Packers!!!
Alex Smith needs to be benched and we need to head in another direction in the QB department... and Cullpepper isn't the answer either. Kaepernick is very raw, but I'll roll with him.

Newton played in the absolute perfect college system for him, but...you are right. His decision making so far hasn't shown a whole lot of smarts, which you need to be a successful NFL qb.

It's so hard to be a Cardinal fan. I followed the Broncos long before the Cards moved here. I have tried to be a fan, but the management makes it hard. (much like the Broncos lately.). I do think they have the right coach now and a few key good players, like Larry. Time to find a qb though.

Yes, Newton, played in the perfect offense in college that catered to this athletic ability. And that's the problem with athletic quarterbacks like him. Teams alter their offensive playbook around these qb's legs, instead of their arms. How dangerous would Newton and Pryor be if they were taught proper throwing mechanics at an early age... Steve Young reincarnated!!

The thing is Cam has great throwing mechanics his biggest issue will be decision making, but in that first game (yes i realise its preseason) he looked very poised in the pocket.I think hes going to surprise a lot of people.

Woo hoo, I'm a girl and I love fotball - we never pay the extra to have the cable package where you get all the games (it's just out of our budget), but one year we got it free when we switched companies and I watched so much football, it was great. Being from Michigan it's unfortunate that the Lions suck so bad, but dh is a Steelers fan and that suits me too. I'm curious to see how Sadie reacts to football, last year we still had our boxer and when I'd get excited I'd yell go go go at the tv and SuzyQ would jump up and run to the door barking and growling trying to figure out what the hell was going on. I can't wait for the regular season to start. Go Steelers!!!!!

His mechanics are okay. Better than most scramble first college qb's, but not where I think they should be. I hope he surprises a lot of folks for my brother's sake, as he picked him or his fantasy team... On a side note, I'm very curioous about Mallett and what the Patriots plan to do with him. I thought my Niners should have taken him over Kaepernick, but oh well. IMHO, he's the most NFL ready QB drafted this year.

Agree completely. Bobby Petrino knows exactly how to shape a QB and Mallett has a ton of natural abilities that cant be taught. He will set records at one team or another in my opinion. Great future ahead of him.
