Two thumbs up on TOTW. I've had my boy on the Pacific Stream for about 4 months-- I alternate supplementing with K9 Showtopper and K9 Superfuel-- the other great part about grain-free food is that the pit bull farts have ceased! :D

I feed my dogs with Raw food. I can recomend the E-book "Raw dog food" by Mogens Eliasen. He is a guy with a high knowhow about wolf and dog feeding. You can google the book and buy it, it cost around 30$.

After I changes to Raw food, I have seen a significient positiv change on my dogs. Nice and soft coat with minimum shelding, white teeth, clear eye's and more energy.
The dog eat a more naturel food compered with these dry brickets, it give the dog better live comfort.
I have also started my new EBT puppy on raw food and he looks very good and have good bones.
In the past i have always feed my dogs with the high quality dry food, but it can't compete with raw food.

I wish I could afford to feed my babies Raw. I had 4 dogs on a raw diet for about a month before I realized that I was spending more to feed them than I was to feed myself. :-(

Yes it's expensive, I live i Denmark and don't know the prices in US. In Dk I pay around 1.300 DKK/month(200$) for raw food for 2 dogs(1.3kg/day). The food is deer, lamb, chicken, turkey, beef, salmon and hourse. It's everything from the animal - bones, meat, offal, tripe, throats etc. The food is approved after same regulations as for human food in DK. After Mogens Eliasens, it's important to use food from different animals, like the wolf do. It's the balance there is important, that means that over a period, you come around more than only 1 kind of meat. The proposal is minimum 1/3 meat, 1/3 fat and bones and maximum 1/3 vegatabables. The dog don't need vegatables, but if it is blendet raw, the dog can use it. I use around 10- 15 % vegatables in blendet form. I know it cost more than dry food, but I have only 2 dogs and priority it. I love to watch my dogs eat a big bone with meat on, they looks like a part of the natur:). Even the experts don't recommend it, you can make a mix between dry and raw food to keep the price on a acceptable level.

I feed PMRR (prey model Raw), it really isn't expensive if you know where and how to do it! I wouldn't feed my dogs any other way now! I could give out some pointers if anyone is interested!

I also have a question about food. I have a 9week old girl who was on pro pact puppy. The breeder gave me a large ziplock bag full of it. Until I got her new food. I bought Chicken soup for the puppy lovers soul. She was on it for 5 days and she had awful gas and pooped a lot. She was very uncomfortable at night. So this week I was thinking about trying Blue Buffalo because I had read that it helps with the gas issues. Do you guys recommend something else for my puppy. She is all white with a brindle marking on her eye.

I'm thinking you ment pro pac. That food is no good. The stuff you have her on now is what im feeding my puppy. It's actually pretty good. Its typically normal for them to have the runs and adjust to a different food. You can switch her to a lamb and rice food if you think she might have a sensitive stomach. Whatever it is you do switch her to try not to switch often, its important to keep it consistent as pups. :)

Blue is a good food so is chicken soup. You are suppose to switch the food over gradely not just all of a sudden because it will make them sick as you are describing. Mix the new with the old putting less of the old and more of the new daily.

Actually I have been gradually switching the foods. (chicken soup and Pro pac) As soon as I started switching she had awful gas! On night she was shifting in her kennel as she was uncomfortable. I did look at the reviews on blue but also read some awful stories that people have written on it around the web. Which made me reluctant about the brand.

I feed taste of the wild. I think its better than the other 2, but its very high in protein and grain free. She may have just got an upset tummy from the switching in general sometimes they do even when its mixed. I have personally only heard good things on blue.

**Fuego: If you're not adding some sort of calcium supplement or ground dried eggshells to your dog's food, he is gonna suffer in the long run. He also needs some organ meat thrown in there at least a couple of times a week. Here's a great site for all kinds of food info: www.dogaware.com Check out her reocmmendations on cooking a balanced diet with all the essential nutrients.

I feed all my dogs innova evo... we used to use the red meat formula but my chihuahua got so fat on it so we have them on the blue bag which is salmon and herring. They love it and the fish oil makes their coats AWESOME..but it does give them stinky fish farts haha

I know what you mean... My dog Max's farts could probably kill AIDS.

chicken soup is higher quality than blue buffalo unless you feed the wilderness line which is NOT good for puppies.

use that to determine good dog food. Welcome ot PBC.

Ya I just started with BB yesterday which is lamb and oatmeal for puppies. Her stool looks great. She has not had any bad things so far. When I pup her on the Chicken Soup she immediately had awful gas and she pooped a lot!!

Also I looked at taste of the wild but they don't have a puppy line.. So i'm sticking to BB. For now at least.
