The How To Evaluate & Pick a Puppy
There are a few main things are that are looked for when an eval is done then other factors that certainly come into play when making final choices.
Most reputable breeders will eval and put the pups in order accordingly after looking at these factors as related to the breed standard of the org the pup is registered with, they are in no specific order here:
-working drive and ability.
- overall health
Other important things to consider:
- what the parents are like
- how the pups are being kept
- how the breeder is socializing them
- titles of the parents and others in the line
- health of parents and others in the line/health testing
- expectations for the pup for example- show, working, strictly pet
A pup that meets the needs and expectations of their...
I could really use some advice because I have no idea as to what's going on with my Pitt and I'm worried he might be very sick. On Friday night, he was asleep in between my boyfriend and I. We thought he was dreaming, because I was gently petting his back and he began to growl. At first it was a low growl, then he lifted his head and began to bare his teeth at my boyfriend. My boyfriend has had Davis since he was a puppy, and Davis has never reacted this way, especially not to him. My boyfriend was able to calm him down and he suddenly seemed to "snap out of it" and was back to his usual happy self. The next day, Davis got very sick. He threw up enormous amounts of his solid dog food, and had diarrhea in his kennel. When we went to comfort him and make sure he was ok, he began to growl again. We figured it was because he was not feeling well. Lastly, this morning (Sunday), as we were heading to leave for work, I sat down to pet him as I always do. At first he was happy...
May is National Water Safety Month, which makes it a great time to talk about ways to keep our dogs safe around water during the warm summer months.
If you’re like many pet parents, you’re likely to take your dogs to the pool or lake, or maybe even on a beach vacation. Perhaps you have a pool at home. No matter where you and your mutt spend time together on the water, take a look at these 5 summer water safety tips for dogs to help you prepare for safe summer fun.
- Know if your dog can swim. A lot of people just naturally assume that all dogs can swim, but this is not the case. Know for sure, and don’t take any chances. Even if your dog can swim, she might not be a strong swimmer, and the best way to protect her pet is a...
Dating is hard. Dating with dogs…is interesting. In addition to the normal questions that run through every single person’s mind (What should I wear? Am I showing enough boob? Too much boob? How’s my breath?), a dog person will probably also have some, if not all, of the following thoughts:
- Will my dog like my date?
- Will my date like my dog?
- Will my date like my dog more than me?
- If my date has a dog, would our dogs get along?
- How does my date feel about dog hair?
- I sure hope I don’t have any dog hair in awkward places.
- What will I do with my dog if my date comes back to my place?
- More importantly, what will my dog do if I bring a date back home?
- Will my date be turned off by the copious amounts of photos of my dog I have?
- Should I have hidden said dog photos?
- How slowly should I reveal my layers of dog crazy?
- Can they handle the crazy?...

Hi, my name is Taylin and my fiancee and I own a 11 month old Blue Fawn by the name of Chai who is also our ESA. We've had Chai since she was four weeks old and never been separated from her until now.
Due to unprofessional property residential management where racial profiling, harassment, verbal and attempted physical abuse my fiancee and I were forced to relocate back to California leaving Chai behind in MA until we could send for her.
We are asking that you visit our gofundme link below in honors of Chai and hopes that is reunited with us as soon as possible. Any donations such as a reinforced crate helps.
Premium members, you now have access to our chat box that can be accessed from the top nav bar.

Well.... I am not new to the forum, but Nala is.
Few weeks after loosing my Katie (will miss her forever!!) - we got a call from a rescue we know and they got a call from an adopter. The people pretty much said - pick up the dog now or something will happen!
We were close by - so we picked her up.
Nala is not even a pit mix of any sort. So I am wondering, if I can stay with you guys?
Her mother is Akbash and her father Karabash. Her story is on the legacyrescue.us webpage.
Nala is about a year old, she was tortured, lost her tail to a machete, has big scars on her hind legs and all her siblings were beheaded, but her mother survived also.
This happened in Turkey - close to the Iraq / Armenian border. She was adopted in the US, only to be chained up, not walked, not trained and not fed enough. She came to me emaciated, scared of the leash, the outside cord anyhow, the dog park, the cars - everything.....
We are now working on her nutrition, her fears (and probably fear...
Eight month old Indira is our beautiful Adopt-A-Bull of The Week. This sweet girl is currently being fostered in New Jersey, and she’s looking for her forever home. Will you take a moment to help her find it?
A few months ago, we featured Indira’s handsome brother Ike as our Adopt-A-Bull of The Week, and he’s since been adopted and is living with his forever family. Isn’t that great news? Now it’s pretty Indira’s turn.
This little girl was found, along with her litter mates, on the side of a road in Ohio. They joined the Pibbles & More Rescue family, and all the puppies have been adopted except for Indira. She’s described as super playful, cuddly, and loving, and she does really well with other animals. Just take a look at this short video of her playing...

Montreal artist teams up with SPCA to counter anti-pit bull sentiment
As you stroll past the Montreal SPCA, chances are you’ll encounter many different types of dogs, but now you’ll come face to face with a brand new one.
As promised, Montreal artist Jean Labourdette has created a second pit bull mural.
This time it’s plastered on a wall of the Montreal SPCA building. The organization has repeatedly spoken out against the city’s proposed pit bull ban.
“We’re using science – we’re putting the facts out there, we’re obviously talking to the media as well, just putting information out there,” Alanna Devine, from the Montreal SPCA, said. “But this is communicating through art, it shows there are other ways. The Montreal SPCA wants to be part of that solution.”
Earlier in the week, the SPCA announced that if a city-wide ban is adopted, as of 2017, they’ll no longer provide dog-control services to the nine Montreal boroughs and three...
My wife and I are new to owning a pit, however we have both had dogs in the past. I had a Rottweiler who was a great dog and we were definitely sad to see her go after 12 short years. My wife has had labrador mixes in the past. Currently we have a 7 mo male brindle pit who will either kill us or make us invincible...lol.
This beautiful face belongs to Reilee, our featured Adopt-A-Bull of The Week. This pretty girl is currently in a New Jersey foster home, and she’s looking for her forever family. Will you help her find them?
Sweet Reilee came to Pibbles & More Animal Rescue after she had a litter of pups under a trailer in Georgia. PMAR brought the entire family to New Jersey, and now all of the pups have gone to their forever homes. It’s Reilee’s turn now.
This beautiful girl is around 2 years old and is described as playful and affectionate. She’s learning basic commands so that she can become the incredible family companion she was meant to be. She would love a home with another doggy playmate, and will do best with a family that will spend time continuing her training.
Take a look at this short video of Reilee. She is really a beautiful and sweet girl, and just look at that wagging tail!
