He means the vet didn't do that great of a job on them. From what I can see the tips are curling in. Might be able to fix that with skin tape. From the front view it looks like a short doberman crop. Should be rounded to a point not straight or dip inward.

This isn't one if my dogs just a picture off the net but this is a good crop IMO.

No tip curl and rounded to a point.
I can see from the profile view your pups ear is rounded but from the front view it looks like they dip inward. Could be the way the dog is positioning the ear though in the pic.
Hard to tell on a cellphone screen.

Ok thank you so much for your feedback I appreciate it. But do you think if I tape them up it should be fine? Im really sad about this its not that bad right

more feedback with people who done this before would be appreciated really stressing out hardcore rightnow feels like my doc only cropped dobies ears.
  7. I don’t have experience or understanding of that so I can’t say. I think dogs whether blue dogs or Dobermann or whatever look better with the ears uncropped but I wouldn’t stress about it. No matter the situation you should just give the dog a good life and take good care of it.

The crop is not that bad and there is nothing you can do until they are fully healed anyway. They do not look like a Dobe crop! There is a lot of personal preference in what length they should be (I find the crop in AGKs post too short and too wide). The length of yours is fine. If anything, they look unequal in shape. Wait til they heal and have hair back on them and then see what you have.

Yes I will wait untill fully healed and after see if I need to tape them since they are curling. About the unequal in shape what should I do after they are fully healed ? Should I tell him to make the other ear the same or just leave it the way it is since its barely noticeable whats your suggestion. Sorry for stupid questions literally first time I crop my dogs ears so sad to see they are unequal tho... idk what to do

Very true. I like the battle crop look vs the longer show crop. Personal preference will definitely change from person to person. When I said dobie crop i didn't mean real high off the head I meant like the thinner shape of the ear as it comes to a point. Crops are hard to tell how good they'll look because you get it done when the dog is like under 4 or 5 months old and it will look a lot different when the dog is full grown. Either way I wouldn't worry about it. Wait and see how it looks when the dogs us 15 to 18 months old. I still would put tape on the ears if those tips are starting to curl in. It can still be corrected as they heal.

Different dogs need to be clipped different. I know a man who had his pups ears clipped when they were born.
Turned out to be a big mess. I had a 5 month old pup that lost most of his ear in a fight with a litter mate and had to do a short battle crop. They looked good. Showed him a time or two and he won a few points but he had too many scars. Litter mate had the longer crop. His turned out great. He became a champion.

Before I let any vet do a crop I would talk to them and see a few dogs they had worked on.
