Dorchester - Weimaraner/Pit Mix Needs Home!

Hello, my name is Dorchester (my friends call me Dorchie or Dorkchester). I am a young weimaraner/pit mix. My former owners turned me into the shelter almost a year ago (seems much longer than that to me). This isn’t the worst place on earth but it sure isn’t the best. I am so desiring of a loving home where my human companions will give me good food, fresh water, lots of love, tons of exercise and training. I’m really very smart if I do say so myself. One of my human friends says I’m way too smart because she has taught me to sit before she throws the ball for me, bring the ball back to her, drop it and then give her time to pick it up and throw it again. Ball is my absolute favorite game in the whole wide world! She has also taught me that I should sit at the gate when it’s time to go out with her. I must reluctantly admit that I am not terribly patient though. I squirm and wiggle until the gate is opened, the collar is on and I can go out. I guess I need to work harder on patience and also on walking slower. For some reason, my human companion can’t run as fast as I can and she says I am a very strong boy. Well, of course I am!

So here’s my wish for the new year, please come visit me at the Town of Huntington Animal Shelter (106 Deposit Road, East Northport – behind the Grateful Paw cat shelter) or contact my human companion via this ad to make an appointment with her to meet me. See, I trained her too! I really am smart, aren’t I?[/

PS. I would love to be an only furbaby and the center of your world.

PPS. My human companion is a volunteer with the League for Animal Protection of Huntington, Inc. If I’m not the ideal dog for you or if you are seeking a cat, please let her know. She volunteers with both the cats and dogs (yes, she’s a real animal lover

    With much love and affection,
