For the past few months, I have been honored when individuals come to me for help.. knowing that I truly care for the well being of dogs and will try to do what I can to rehome them or help them in any way possible.. So the latest came to me a few days ago when a woman's mom was found shot dead in her home.. Her sweet Bully mix, Zora, is now without an owner and a home. I am trying my best to do what I can to help.. I don't have a realistic space for multiple dogs , so if anyone may know of someone looking for a well behaved, house broke, adult female dog for a companion.. She would be a good fit. She is nervous right now and ofcourse confused as to probably what happened.. but just thought I would share just incase.. I realize that there are a hundred more cases of homeless bully mixes and Pit-mixed dogs needing a home.. so I am not surprised if this dog ends up in a shelter.

I will probably end up taking her to the Humane Society next week... She looks like a sweet heart. I will meet her next week. zora1.jpg

She doesn't have to go to a shelter.

I never met the dog and I don't think she was even given the chance at a shelter. The woman that was killed, her sister, had the dog put down. I had found a man who was interested in taking her, so I contacted the family and they said I was too late.

I can't imagine my family having my dog euthanized if I (and my husband) died, sure isn't a good way to honor a love one who passed away, just adding to tragedy.
I'm commenting without knowing everything that happened in that family, so I could be completely wrong.

I agree.. me too.. my family would honor my dogs and atleast give them a chance at life elsewhere. It sounds like the family obviously was not close. I did not know them that well Or the situation. There seemed to be a lacking in compassion if this is the case..

Yes, but *I* would be the one to find the appropriate home and give them a chance elsewhere. If I could not find that home, I would put my dog down before I turned it over to a "rescue" or shelter. Just me....
