Hey guys, so here is where we stand on the dog kennels. I know I have filled some of you in and some I haven't had a chance to discuss this with. So here we go.
We are currently undergoing new kennels. The kennels will consist of (6) 4X4X12, cemented into the ground about 5 inches. Then we had our slab poured today THANK GOD! The slab is a 16X25X about 2 1/2 thick. There will be 6 Perfessional Dog Kennels sitting on them. I wish I had taken pictures today. I will get them going soon. Tomorrow and the rest of this week we will be moving all our dogs to our new home. (They are currently still at my parents) minus Dozer. (He is here with us) Then in a couple more paychecks, we will have "A" frame trusses put over the top with OSB (particle borad) covering that. Then we will sheet metal over the OSB board. There will be a 5 foot walk way between them. Like 3 kennels on each end, and walkway in middle. This walk way with have a panel on back side, and a gate on front side. So if I do not want the dogs out in the yard, then they cannot go out. There is a drainage pipe on one end, the slanted end of course. It will be a small septic tank for the kennels and dogs. There will be a 55 gal drum buried underground and the pipe ran to it. With holes and gravel surrounding the drum. So my neighbors don't have to smell my stinky butts. LOL
LET ME KNOW IF YALL CAN PICTURE THIS, AND WHAT YALL THINK SO FAR! I will try to get pics in a few days and post them.( Then down the road I want to get those peice together mats so they don't hurt their elbows and joints. )

I got some of those mats recently, I like them so far no ones tried to taste them. The concrete slab is it smooth or rough? If its rough and the dogs spend time on it your nail trimming days are over!! I had outdoor kennels before with a 10' x 10' rough slab where the dogs ate and their houses were and each had a 10' x 10' square of pea gravel (helps keep feet tight I hear) sounds good to me. I'm going indoor with some outdoor kennels, size of each will be 4' x 6' and 6' high, with those mats and everyone has a new bed we'll see how long that lasts. I also use the bowl holders you attatch to the kennels to keep them on their toes and reaching at chow time! I said they "will be" 4' x 6' because they're on back order :( Yeah post pics when you're able!

The cement is just bull floated. so it is smooth but not as slick as glass. It has a couple spots, but oh yea our dogs have been on cement before and never have to cut toe nails. I will try to get some pics today or tomorrow, been busy moving them.
