Dog eating his own poop

My 8 month old BT. Keeps eating poop. She just started doing this and it's driving me crazy. I know there is pills you can give but i'm wanting some advice as whether they work or what I should do. I'm not sure if her food isn't digesting all the way and she thinks its food? Please help me out.

I have heard adding pineapple juice or canned pumpkin to their food helps, but I have never tried it. Of course you could always just pick it up when shes done going so she doesn't eat it :P

One of our two is afflicted with this ... blech. The only thing I found to be effective is to pick up immediately - no poop, no 'snacks'. With a yard that is large, I know it's a PITA.

=[ Ya its just gross. But I'm gonna give that stuff a try if it doesn't work. Guess I'm just gonna have to pick it up lol

I think our breed is ridden with this problem, ive known several to do this, my own and friends dogs. When Bowzer was in vegas before I moved to AZ he did this for a year strait, couldn't break it. When I moved to AZ I had a HUGE yard and he didnt do it not one time. Moved back to vegas and a much smaller potty area and it picked back up like clock work, assuming that maybe if there is too much around him he will do it (in a smaller space). He would also refuse to potty in the smaller potty area and I would have to let him into the bigger part of the yard to get him to take a shit, otherwise he would absolutely refuse. My friend suggested possibly something in the water? I think probiotics might help as well.

I dont know if its matter of space or the weather or something in the water. Maybe its just because we get so upset over it?
