Ok, I know that although my dogs are my pets and companions, I usually try to do something nice for the for the holidays. I was wondering how many others end up getting Christmas gifts or do something nice for their four legged companions during the holidays.

This year we got Jake a new kong ball, because he loves balls and knew he would have a blast with it. Harley (Rottie) gets a new kong, they last just about a year with her. The old man Conner (Smooth Collie) who turned 16 on Dec. 17th is only interested in cookies so a box of senior bisquits for him.

We also do this because we know that we will have visitors in during the holidays with wound up children. This way our dogs can go to their kennels or another room and enjoy their new toys while we visit.

What, if anything do you guys do?

I buy 'em presents and let them unwrap them on Christmas morning. They also get a nice home-cooked meal and a good long walk at the park.

I bought Pooh a stocking and toys and treats to go in it. Since he will have to watch my grandson open toys and will not be able to play with them I figured he needed some of his own to open.

I got the dogs new collars.

Every holiday some big meal ends up being made, and the dogs get some of everything in their kibble.

I can't this year. I've spent $250 on vet bills this month alone. Their christmas gift is the gift of a healthy life. :D
Plus, they get delicious treats all the time- dehydrated rabbit ears, dehydrated beef lung, yesterday I made them lunch of an egg and half a banana each. Every day is christmas for them!

We do. I feel bad this year because we are going to see people on Christmas Day and Sashie will get left out. Because no one in my family near us, likes dogs. When we go see my Dad for Christmas she has a great time and is totally included.

This year I got Sasha a new leather collar and a new bone. They are already wrapped and under the tree. I always try to do something special for Christmas and Birthdays for our 4 legged friends, they are afterall family.

One of our two foster cats is going to his forever home on the 24th and will BE a christmas present for two adorable kids (timing just worked and the parents are fully aware that this will really be their cat and their commitment, but when we realized it was a good match we offered to hold him a few extra weeks to make the suprise even better)

My dogs are spoiled as all get out. They each get three or four wrapped gifts, and I give them cornish game hens and canned food for dinner, lol.

They loooove opening their gifts--its like the best part for them.

She'll be getting gifts from her grandpa and grandma (their idea, not mine!), but for me, I've spent enough money on her in the last 3 months since I got her that every day is Xmas! Saving money right now for her "adult" leash and collar, since she is about to outgrow her puppy collar. :p

I'm considering wrapping up their orbee balls and favorite fetch toys, LOL.

Well, I don't really buy my furry little friends gifts (mostly because I'm usually constantly getting treats/toys on a monthly bases, lol) but they do get turkey heart/liver as a treat to go with their own mini christmas meats.

I mean my wife gets him some presents and all but I'm sure he doesn't care about the birth of Jesus Christ.

My dog doesn't care but I don't either. :D We celebrate the Winter Solstice but it's just fun to send people gifts just the same.

Growing up my parents always got our animals stockings and put little toys in them for each animal form santa and I always thought it was so cool that santa never forgot to leave something for each of our animals.. so I plan to do the same thing for our animals since they are such a big part of the family and this is the first year my son is understanding the concept of santa. We dont have our own place so the dogs share a stocking and are sharing a gift (a rope, they both love to tug with each other and they shredded the old rope durring a game of tug not to long ago, so they have a new one coming) I may look around and see if I can find a cheap sweater for Harley that fits a little better, the one he has is a size to small but he LOVES wearing it lol so I may get another one for him also.
