So I finished up this nifty little project. Nothing extraordinary, but I'm very happy with it and thought I'd share!

Basically, I used 50ish feet of nylon boat rope, a couple heavy duty clasp-y things, a couple O-rings, and rope clamps.

There are 2 of these 25-foot sections, each with an O-ring one end and a clasp on the other. I just use my 2-foot traffic lead as the handle. Voila!

Cheap, heavy duty, and you can vary the length. I just didn't like the flimsiness of most training leads I found, and I didn't want to need to cart around 2 different lengths if I wanted to change things up. So, solution! It can be 25 ft or 50 ft!

I can pretend! I usually have a lot of crafty ideas, but not much follow-through. This was born out of necessity though. It's great! And STRONG!

For the length ... I bet it's pretty light-weight too, which is a good thing

What kind of Collar is that ?? It kinda looks like a Weaver collar but they don't have blue lining or edges.

    Dammit!

It's from Hilltop Leather. Walnut leather with blue leather padding! Just came yesterday. I love it. Nice leather, very well made, sturdy. Plus I love the blue/brown combo.

Thanks for posting this. I have two but one is super thick and only 25'. The other is still only 30' but it's flimsy.

    Happy to help!

It's really simple, but I seriously spent a week brainstorming all sorts of crazy ideas.

This just in! Both collar and lead can hold up to 70 pounds of force at a sprint...

We were in the back yard. Garp was standing next to me and saw a dog walking past and decided he wanted to ignore me and bolt after this one. Hit the end of the 25 foot lead and flipped over backwards. Equipment held up. Whoop.

Oh, it still hurts like a B. But I had to prioritize in that situation. Plus, it's on my left side and the leash was in my right.

But yeah, I'm pretty tough... The twin cities breed 'em strong.
