What's up... It's been a HOT minute since I've been on here.. I'm betting most here don't know me and there's very few who are still here from back when I used to spend a lot of time on this forum. I have no idea if/how active this forum still is. This is kind of a long shot so I'll just put it out there..

My dog, Carter, was recently diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy. He's an almost 13 year old Dogo Argentino mix. I know medication from here on out is basically managing his symptoms and keeping his muscles from atrophying. We walk a couple miles per day. I let him pace himself and walk as much or as little as he'd like.

The vet has prescribed Galliprant, which is more or less an anti-inflammatory for neuro issues. From the vet, this med is about $120/month. Obviously, if he stays with this med, I'll find somewhere to order it that's cheaper, however I'm looking at my options. He also has been diagnosed twice with renal failure and is currently on a low protein diet. Galliprant has shown to have no affect on kidneys; whereas other meds such as Rimadyl can be catastrophic when taken for an extended period of time.

I've never used CBD oil on myself, much less my dogs, but I'm wondering if anyone has any input or suggestions in relation to CBD specifically?

Or I'll take other suggestions or exercises for him. Money is an issue and I'm not able to provide acupuncture or hydrotherapy, which I know have shown to help dogs with DM. Right now, he's not showing any real pain or discomfort. He falls and trips while walking a lot. I try to walk him on grass for lower impact but he's energetic with no off-switch.
