It seems like you never hear much about the canadian dog scene, and yet over the years they had some pretty good dogs and dogmen .

Yes taner andre was the most famous one , but what about the next generation,i remmber names like ziggy m and gardiner and martelli, i think ziggy had mayfield send him some dogs and you see them in the peds of those and others bred the giroux greenwood dogs into it, but it looks like they have all gone ,which is a shame , i hope soemone knows if there around and if the dogs survived also.

I'm sure the blood is somewhere. How watered down the pedigree is, I am not sure. But, your best bet would be to reach out on game-dog. Some members over there are on top of old blood and can answer this question better. I wish I knew more about Canadian lines. If you find anything fill us in.

I live in Alberta and have had one heck of a time finding any legitimate APBT breeders. I know about 5-6 different kennels I'd trust in the US but none here in AB or BC. Let alone anyone breeding old lines.

Same for Doberman as we have looked into them as well so far only one breeder that I'd call a maybe.

Never heard of em... just looked em up and their dogs are gorgeous... I BC has tons upon tons of "pit bull" breeders in comparison to other provinces so its hard to find the kennels worth contacting. I don't frequent the forum much and stopped looking after most of my results returned Am. Bully kennels or bybs.

There's another kennel in BC run supposedly run by a member of Hells Angels forget the name but they always had a few good lookin dogs but I checked the peds they had posted and there was quite a bit of Am. Bully blood. (Not that I would really care b/c I just want a good pet dog... I can get that from a rescue. But they had no idea what their dogs really wear despite being papered)

Ain't that the truth! I live in Vancouver, BC, and you will rarely see REAL APBT's out here, let alone kennels that breed them. If you do run into a person with a good looking specimen, 9x's out of 10 they're non-papered rescues from the States. On the even more rare occasion you'll bump into someone who has the real thing, but imported from an American kennel. I had to ship my boy in from Florida; ADBA registered (s) Buck-Mayday/Chinaman (d) OFRN/Boogieman. For that reason, if I had the time, space and money I would love to start a breeding program here in the northwest, and produce some good bulldogs for the public and into good homes.
